    Hi Gill
RCD is the other side of myeloma X1 trials,Slim got CDT side, but we wanted the RCD,if that makes sense !!!
This is the one JET had and had such good results. As you know people are affected in different ways, but they can alter the dose,It looks if it will become one of the front line drugs for MYeloma but at the moment still a trial drug.
If you look at news on this site you will find out,a little more about it,!!

Gill all these new drugs, seem to be working to a degree,I know how hard it is,but when your hear people posting on here ,all these people having good results,it gives you some hope:-)

    good Luck Eve

    Hi Roz
You are coming up to your own 1 year soon!!,so my thoughts are with you,I have to confess when people say it gets easier!! I have my doubts the loss just becomes more acceptable, but it,s always there, but in time the good memories remain.
I hope you have planned to do something, even if it just opening a bottle of wine and enjoying that lovely garden.Love Eve

    Hi Everybody
I am on a bit of a high at the moment, slept well for the first time in ages.mind you G&T wine an d baileys helped.LOL but feel wonderful this morning and its such a lovely day the sun shining, and everyone seem to be out walking this morning.8-)
Min you were right about not giving up,and with out your support,i think i might have, this is the first time since starting treatment 10 months ago we have positive news, when Slim finished CTD,told it had increased in bones to 80%,2line of treatment Velcade started, has had 4 cycles, but unable month by month to tell how myeloma was going as no longer giving true readings,so BMB taken end of 4 cycle and received results on Friday.Has been a long 14 weeks.
Like Bridget says if she feels well, that,s her bench marker,so we have been just doing the same.
So glad your doing so well Min,you have a year ahead of you of first,s,first christmas, first birthdays, without Peter, and it is lovely to see you, taking holidays and enjoying your grandchildren, Love Eve

    Hi Dad and Abi
Welcome to the site,It is no use telling you not to worry because your world has just been invaded by Myeloma, and your thinking this cannot be happening to your dad.
There is so much to take in,so just try to take it one day at a time,I found it useful to ask friends and relatives to stop phoning all the time, because I was just repeating myself all the time,I know they were concerned. So i send an e-mail to them just updating any changers,so now when they do phone,we just talk about everyday things rather than the Myeloma.
I would say get a booklet from Myeloma uk,and look into issues on this site anything your not sure about ask away on here or to Ellen the nurse.
Find out what sort of Myeloma it is!!!
Ask for blood results you will learn to understand them.!!!
Find out to what extent the Myeloma has spread!!!some caught early have no bone damage.
Make sure your dad listens to his body, very important,
It,s not all doom and gloom stay positive and remember there is always someone ahead of your dad on this journey. Eve:-)

    Well Dia
Are you doing as you should and listening to your body!!!:-P

Bridget what is it with kids, that its always mums fault,I could write a book about all the things I am responsible for, even to them marrying men over 6ft!!.It seems because I married a small man, they have hated not being taller so I am to blame, LOL.:-S
Any way it,s consultants day to day, have not seen him for 14 weeks because as long as Slims doing well, there is nothing they could tell us before, waiting on BMB,.
Will let you know how he gets on. Love Eve;-) 😎 😀 :-)The faces reflect my face fixed smile.

    Hello Roz
The inhalers work, and you pay a price if you forget to use them!!,When i first started using them, many years ago, I fought it like h e l l big mistake realised it is very much a preventive medication.
My daughter blames me for all her ailments!! even to the point of having big breast,to drip gravy down.LOL. The woe,s of being a mum. love Eve

    Hi Bridget
I have purple and blue one,s
Purple as soon as I get up and last thing of a night preventive
Blue to use any time, but if you use it before a walk or before going up hill,or any time before you do any movement it works far better than, when your chest restricts or a coughing fit starts.
If I forget I pay a price. So I am extra careful, that,s how I started motor homing the damp weather plays havoc with me,chest infections are a no no.
    Love Eve

    Hi Dai
Inhalers are preventive, use them before you need them!!!!
I did not reply to your post about the conference, sounds silly but I was angry with you for not looking after yourself FIRST,then I felt guilty because I was the one pushing you!!!! I should have realised you only a male and like most male species do not know when to stop .LOL:-P
Your health is far more important than a boffins tea party,if they want to know how we feel about things they can read these postings.

    Hi Pauline
Good for you,I am a great believer,in what ever you want to do,mine just happens to be camper vans, you could not explain to anyone the kick you get out of it.Have had campers for over 18 years, travelled as far as the Sahara Dessert just wish we had done more, but feel ever so lucky,we did not wait until Slim was 65 as MM took over are lives just before his 66 birthday.
We do not have the big house or the money to go with it,only a Flat a wonderful camper van,and lots of wonderful memories and like minded friends.A home to me is not 4 walls and a roof, its the person you are with, that makes it a home
My girls think I am mad,but you hear so many people say (I wish I had Done that)
You make sure you make the most of grah remission,If you need any help about travelling abroad,or air de services or anything concerning travelling let me know, have a wonderful live enjoy!! Eve

Hi Is it Glynis or Joyce
I know i have asked you before, but lost track of who you were, having no picture and so many new people coming on site,I get mixed up,but i know how difficult I found it to post a picture, could not get the picture right size, and thought at my age,a close up is a no no,so settled for my dog lol.

Thanks for posting about your hubby,as you are aware,no one is talking about SCT for Slim, because of blood clots and damage to lungs, but its lovely that your hubby managed it,so keep my fingers crossed it might happen, but first he have to achieve remission, will know if Velcade is working on Friday.

Jo,s sword is hanging over our heads at the moment, but when you hear good news such as yours,it does cheer you up.:-)
    Love Eve

    Hi Jean
I have regretted a lot of things I have not done in my youth it is a time you can freely express yourself,as you grow older you grow aware of the TERRIBLE
looks you get from your children, when they consider you are misbehaving
