    Dear Mavis and Dai

Thanks for your replies. It is reassuring reading your experience of this type of pain. It gives me hope. Frank still has the pain but he said it is a lot easier than Wednesday. It really scared me – I have never seen him in so much pain – and such a terrible colour. Dai as you say – sitting the wrong way. Frank has been…[Read more]

    Hi Eve

Thanks for your good wishes. When frank was first diagnosed 5 years ago she did an MRI and she told us the about the crushed vertabrae. She said that she could tell from the scan that it was an old injury and could Frank remember any incident. He did and when she told him I also remember. It was on a cruise and he had a silly accident…[Read more]

  • Hi Bridget and Sarah

I just love The Killing. Although I'm enjoying this series I think the first one was better. I record it so I can watch it in peace. I tried to watch it "live" and frank would talki and I would miss the sub titles and rewind – so in the end – just record and watch at my pace

    Love Jean xx

Thank you all for your replies and good wishes. We are just in from hospital. Left here at 9am!! He got bloods taken a thorough examination by a doctor who looked about 14. He was thorough asked lots of questions (some Frank could not answer and I had to take over). He sent him for an X ray which took forever and the we went back and waited.…[Read more]

    Dear Tom and Min

Thank you both for your replies

Tom thanks but I can't show Frank your reply – this hubby of mi e is a one off – he is such a private person – he doesn't discuss his illness with anyone. He's always FINE. when anyone asks him. Not even his sons and as far as I'm concerned it's like trying to get blood out of a stone getting…[Read more]

    Hi All

Here I am again offloading on you all but I am worried sick about Frank. As you know he has not stated treatment. For the past 4 weeks he has not been feeling well, although as usual he has been trying to hide it from me (oh how I wish I was as unobservant as he thinks I am). I have been nagging him to contact consultant and as usual…[Read more]

  • Hi Eve

You are so right – family is everything. We are so excited about having all the boys and their families together, including brothers and sister. We are going mad cleaning and preparing the house. I am exhausted already but will be rested before the first one arrives on 20th.

    Love to you both

    Hi Eve

Tom is right. Frank finished Zometa 4 years ago and had to have a tooth removed a couple of monyhs ago He had to go to the dental hospital at the Royal Voctoria and was given high dose of anti biotics and had to wait a couple of hours and then a Professor took the tooth out. He did have a problem – it kept bleeding. But did not take…[Read more]

  • Hi all

Most funerals that I attended, the loved one has always been at home. The clergy and mourners are at the home (and outside). The service is done there. My mum was at home for 3 days. Only thing I didn't like was that for months after the funeral my dads house smelled of wreaths – chrysanthemum – I hate them now. Won't have them around…[Read more]

    Hi Claudette

You are right it is a very individual disease. Frank trusts his consultant – what she says is law. I suppose that is a good thing to have trust. I can never remember what she tells us so I take a recorder in with me and the listen again when I am relaxed and write down what I need to ask at next visit.

I hope things go well…[Read more]
