Hi Marie my husband smouldered for nearly 7 years before treatment. Had SCT in March this year – enjoy every day and I hope it is years before treatment stRts. I think Ted (one of our forum friends) has been smouldering for over 7 years. He might be along later

    Best wishes

Stuart tried both links and came up "page not found". Could it be because I'm using an IPad?

Maureen so glad that Ian is back home where he belongs. Hope you enjoyed your wine 🙂 Frank is beside me snoring his head off. At hospital on Wednesday but unfortunately his consultant is on long term sick leave and replacement leaves a lot to be desired 😀

Hope Ian goes from strength to,strength. You will not know yourself having him home. ENJOY

    Hi Nancy

Franks tummy swoll up about two months ago. The only msds he's on is Folic acid. In the morning tummy is flat but as the day progresses it starts to swell. He had SCT in March. He has mentioned it a few times to his 'stand in ' consultant who examines him and tells him everything ok. He looks about 6 months pregnant.

I hope your husband gets answers soon

    Hi David

Sorry you had to join us here but welcome. My husband, Frank was diagnosed with smouldering myeloma in 2006. He had SCT in March this year and he turned 70 in April. We were surprised that they started CDT and then SCT as Franks Pp levels were dropping on their own for months. Frank thought that they decided to do it as he was turning 70 but our consultant told us that your fitness and general health is taken into consideration when they make the decision.

Hope someone else comes along soon and gives you more info.
    Take care

France's my husband Frank smouldered for 6 years before any treatment. CDT and STC was decided on as results of blood tests. To be honest not sure what test as PP's were dropping for months and then consultant decided to go ahead

Hope you smoulder for many years

Vanessa what an awful thing to happen. It's enough with this bloody illness without any further worries. The others have offered good advice to you re the financials.

We are on BUPA and when Frank was diagnosed 7 years ago he said to the consultant. She was quite annoyed and said that he would get the same if not better treatment on NHS. Frank went NHS and he has been more than happy with the treatment etc he's received. (I get a bit crabby with them at times at times – just worry -but then thats me). There is someone at the end of a telephone line 24/7 if Frank has a problem. He cannot remember the last time he saw our GP

I hope things start to improve for you both

    Hi David

Hi Lolly and welcome to the forum. Sorry you have to be here but you are in the right place. My hubby was diagnosed in 2006 and went through SCT in March. Was a bit of a rough ride at times but he got through it and bloods show no detectable protein and PET scan showed no cancer. We are off on a cruise on 13 Sept – first holiday in 2 years 🙂

They are a great friendly bunch and will be there for you for help, advice, info and to listen to you if you want to rant. Just come on and ask – someone will come along that will be of help to,you

Best wishes to Steve and take care of yourself
    Love Jean
