So so good to read that Phil has turned the corner. Bloods sound good. Frank has no date yet just sitting by the phone. Your posting and others on stem cell transplants are so useful. I have a little notebook that I jot down tips and advice . So thanks to all who have contributed

Megan was really glad to read of Phil's progress and then sorry to read the Iv is up again. I really hope that 2013 (3 1/2 hours to go) shows a marked improvement in Phil and that you take care of yourself

Hope you are bearing up. 🙂 glad that Phil's tummy is getting better. Hope all goes to plan. We were at consultant today and are just waiting for the phone call. Dr told us that the first 14 days of transplant were the worse. So Phil has reached that hurdle so hope he is turning the corner and that he can see the light at the end of the tunnel! 😉

Thanks all for replies. I went out and bought loads of bananas, didn't know about apricots. He started the tablets this afternoon. I will keep a close eye on him.

Hi Keith

When my son was 18 months (now 30) he was covered in bruises. Just lifting him for his cot caused massive bruising. Went to hospital where his platelet count was 8. After tests they decided to do some procedure (for the life of me can't remember what). Just before they took him down test showed that platelets had risen slightly procedure postponed and every day platelets climbed. As Sue says go easy. I'm sure you know all,this but hope that platelets start to rise.

Thanks. Still don't believe it!! But consultant said that if got good harvest they would freeze but she said that because of his age (he looks young)!!!) 😉 but she didn't think that there would be another. Anyway hope this one goes well with as little infections and he has a long remission

Thank you all for your good wishes. I keep asking Frank if he's sure they said 7.2, he said 7.2 or 7.5 can't remember!!! So just to makes sure I'm phoning them tomorrow 😉
