  • Hello Ann,

Dad is on his 6th cycle of CTD and has really painful fingers and toes which I think is related to the Thalidomide. His ankles and feet were also swollen but since being given water tablets are so much better. He did have a chest xray but that was all clear but reading the side effects of the steroids I think they may play a part in…[Read more]

    Hi David
IF you can get a PET scan out of them,it will show any form of Cancer outside of the bones, but they cost a lot of money.
I do not know how they will decide if Slims is coming back as they have told us only way is BMB.
Have another holiday ,then you might forget about the 3 months again.Eve.
Dai is very quiet anybody know if he is OK?????

    Hi Mavis,

I'm sure your body is still recovering from all those nasty drugs and it will take a while for you to get your muscle tone back. Dad has lost loads of muscle in his legs where he is so weak most of the time and I'm sure that will take a good few months to start building that up again. I don't think dad is having a sct but this…[Read more]

    Hi "Ramos"

Welcome to the forum – I do hope you find it the support we all do.

I'm glad to hear that you are not having any treatment at present, but was surprised that, as your problem started in your back, that you are not having pills or infusions for bone strengthening. Has this been mentioned to you? In the nearly 18 months I wasn't…[Read more]

Just caught up with your thread about your Dad. My greetings to him. I finished CDT about two months ago and still feel very tired although all my readings are now down. I have been disappointed that I wasn't immediately feeling bouncing about once the treatment finished. In fact I have felt worse. However I went to see my new…[Read more]

He said he can feel them taking over his body, he agreed with the alien lol!! He had quite a good day yesterday but is on steroids this weekend and knows what's coming this week. It has to be…[Read more]

Thanks Vicky. I wish dad could get on here and chat to people who are going through the same as he is, we all sit on the side line knowing he's feeling bad but can't do anything to help. He has quite shaky hands at the moment which is made worse by the steroids and typing wasn't really his strong point before!!! I've been reading these replies to…[Read more]

Nice to know Ivan is on the mend, time for you to take a rest before the hard work begins at home.

  • Hi Ann
swollen ankles and numbness are some of the symptoms, both will go with time.
You can buy socks that have more give at the top to make it easier to get them on,he needs to keep his feet elevated when sitting,i use to use coco butter milk from boots and massage Slims feet it does help with the feet being swollen.Helps circulation .
