Hi Sharon I am so pleased your consultant was more willing to listen to you. It sounds as if the other doctor was sticking rigidly to the trial protocols rather than adjusting doses for your benefit In my experience of trials the overiding factor is what is best for you as a patient and although the protocols are there there is room for changes…[Read more]

So sorry to hear of you disappointing news. Dex is horrible isn´t? As if you both didn´t have enough to contend with. We live in Yorkshire so if we hear any thunderclaps we will understand perfectly.
Thinking of you and pray that your luck changes soon. Love Carol xxx

Hi
I am on the Myeloma 11 trial (Revlimid) – is anyone else too? I have come through the SCT and am now on 25g Revlimid daily with no dex and am in my third month of this. Feeling very tired and with quite a lot of discomfort but achieving good results so far.
I would be interested to hear how others are coping.
Thank you
Carol

Hi,
Wow, I am so pleased for you, what a fantastic result. You have really encouraged me as I am at present on Revlimid (without dex)25mg and not feeling very well with it but if it works it´s worth it. Do you think they might reduce my dose – does the paraprotien have to be at 0 do you think?
Hope everything continues to go well and that you…[Read more]

Hi
Hope everything is going ok and you are getting on top of the routine – I found it very confusing to start with. Yours sounds very similar to my protocol and althought the steroids did make me feel quite upset and grumpy it has been worth it as I have come through the transplant well.
Very best of luck – if you feel grumpy you can always…[Read more]

Hi, I had my transplant in February of this year and have not had "achey legs" (but still have a lot of back ache etc.) However, I too am very tired but suppose this will improve when I finish my current round of chemo. Has anyone retuned to their "normal" energy after transplant? – Suppose its asking too much but it would be lovely to think we…[Read more]

Hi Dai
Do hope you got some satisfaction today. So frustrating that your treatment is going well, but that it is your leg that is setting you back.
All the best.

Hello Eve
I was dissapointed to hear about Slims result do you think they have given you the correct information as it seemed he was doing so well it really cheers you up doesn't it! when some consultants say such callous things what Slim needs is positive things not negative I think you have drawn the short straw in what they call the post…[Read more]

Hello Gill
I really glad Stephen is a bit better and home again it nice when someone looks after you and cooks tempting dinners I hope he enjoys them

Hello Ivan
I think some times alternatives are as good for the mind as the body I see no reason why you could not take some cumin along with the regular chemo as long as they dont fight I have also seen that cinnamon is another good spice that might help fight cancer if it helps do it the medical proffesion guess it half the time anyway as you…[Read more]

So sorry to meet you like this – we all understand how shocked you and your family must feel.
