I would also like to express my sadness at Eva’s passing. She will be sadly missed. I send condolences to her family who will have stood alongside her and suffered too because of this awful illness.

Hi Andrea
Glad you have been able to resume your CDT. I had six lots and it got me into complete remission and I have remained so for nearly 2years. For various reasons I didn’t go down the SCT route.
Hope things go really well for you.

As you have bone pain, are you on Zometa infusions? I swear mine have stopped me having any fractures from my many lesions.
Very best wishes.

Hi Robbo
Sorry to have to welcome you to this a Forum. Yes, there is such a lot to take in with a diagnosis of Myeloma. It’s not helped by each case being different. However, knowledge is everything so learn as much as you can from the a web Site and ask to get the MUZk Magazine if you don’t already.
You do have the right attitude. I believe…[Read more]

Hi Loopy
Welcome from me too. Sorry your husband has had such a hard time. I was treated with CDT (admittedly not CDTa) and got into complete remission after six rounds. I have not gone down the route of SCT and have been fortunate thus far even though, like your husband, my bones are shot through with lesions.
Mobility does improve. It is…[Read more]

So sorry to hear how poorly your a Dad is and that you have had such problems getting information from your Consultant. It seems that now the priority is to make sure your adad is as pain free as possible. Is there a pain specialist nurse you could talk to. Also, is the. Hi Sarah
I had six lots of CDT starting in March 2012. Following this I have continued in complete remission. If I remember correctly my PP levels went steadily down from about treatment number three.
Main side effects for me were thinning hair, metal taste that made food less appetising (I developed a craving for Salt and Vinegar Monster…[Read more]

Hi Gill
Thanks for this. It is good to have confirmation of something I vaguely remembered, that you could revisit CDT. Certainly if/when I relapse, I will ask about it. Not without its problems, horrible taste, thinning hair and shingles, but six lots brought me into complete remission the first time.
I do hope your Mum does well on it. I…[Read more]
