    Hi Yvonne,

I cannot give any information on Smouldering compared to MGUS. Apart from this site I use Margaret’s Corner:

    link: https://margaret.healthblogs.org/

This I have found really informative on MGUS & Smouldering, as well as this site.

Always here if you need a chat.

    Hi Yvonne,

Thanks for the info on flu jab, I think I’ll will have one.

I completely understand your nerves, but it will ease your mind when you speak with your Consultant.

I’ve decided to start and try and eat more carefully now with the stress recently I must admit I’ve not really been looking after myself, just concentrating on the children to keep busy.

I will be thinking about you this afternoon,

    All the best Rachel x

    Hi,

After my third lot of blood test (after 7 months), Dr has stated I officially have MGUS (paraprotein unchanged so far!) Though I must admit very nervous before the results, I will have to get use to this now!

Yvonne, all the best with your results.

Quick question to other MGUS sufferers, would you recommend Flu jab? I had a really bad chest infection last year (had previous one as well) so wondered if anyone else suffers with this?

Hi Yvonne, sorry to hear that you have been getting these aches and pains. Yes its difficult not to get paranoid like you said about every pain you feel. MGUS is a very strange diagnosis to have and though the Dr’s say that you should not worry, its hard not to. Hope the Dr’s can get to the bottom of it for you.

    All the best

    Rachel

    Hi,

As you can see by my previous posts I still in the ‘learning stage!’ myself, but thought I would say hello. I’m sure that someone here can give you some more advice about your MGUS.

    All the best

    Rachel

Hi Vicki, thanks for the advice, I will take that on board. I’m waiting until September and see what my results are then, the Dr told me that I wont see a haematologist until something changes!  I’ve found Margarets Corner  (http://margaret.healthblogs.org/) very informative ( as well as this site). Especially the information about curcumin c3 complex! Hope you can get some answers. Rachel xx

    Hi Vix66,

Sorry to hear what you are going through at the moment. I cannot give any advice as I am still very new here  (still not officially been been told I am MGUS ) awaiting my next blood tests in September. At present I’m IgG  Kappa paraprotein 3. I’m 46 so a similiar age to you, so sending lots of love. Hope you can find more information to help you. Rachel xx

Hello Mike & Ted, thank you both for your messages and information. Yes I must get used to this waiting game ( im not very good at this). Its just a very strange disease and all the information and how it can vary is quite overwhelming. Thanks again. Rachel

    Hi Julie,

Thank you so much for taking time to reply. As you stated keeping busy is good until I know more information (helped by the fact that one of the children has ended with the sickness bug so this has kept be  very busy on Saturday!) I really didnt want to bother anyone on the forum as people are dealing with alot more than I am. But once I had the first findings from the GP and then an overload of information about MGUS/MM etc I found on the internet I went into panic mode. Thank you for your kind words and all the best to you and your husband.
