My mum was diagnosed in 2010 and has just had to start her first lot of treatment.  She is on a 6 month cycle of CTD.  Her biggest fear in the run up to her consultant deciding to go ahead with the treatment was what side effects she would experience and how bad they would be. <p>Today was &quot;D Day&quot; (as we have been calling it) to find out if it was time to start mums chemo. I am so pleased that the answer was NO!!  I know its only a &quot;no&quot; for now and the time will come, as her consultant said she is sitting on a ticking time bomb but at the minute everything is stable. She has got to have blood tests over the next fortnight, consultants are having a case meeting to discuss her and then back on 4th April to be told yes or no not yet.
