My Mum was diagnosed in 2022. She was given Lenalidomide, which apart from a few minor side effects has worked well. Just after my Dad died it stopped working and she has recently started chemo injections and Dexamethazone. In a few weeks she is suffering from dementia so severe she cannot do anything herself. My brother and I are struggling to manage 24 hr care (I live 100 miles away) and he has his own mental health issues. I did read that this can be reversible, but I’m very concerned. She has no interest in anything – can’t follow TV, a book, barely eats. If it takes a couple of months after the treatment ends to restore her I think she will be quite damaged by this. There is also the care implications.
