    Hi Joanne

Am pleased your Father in law is now on the treatment regime, and the advice I can give is for the pending treatment is Rest and take one day at a time:-D

Your Father in law will have his off days/weeks? but you will know it wont be "Him" it will be the drugs:-/ and not forgetting you and mother in law need your rest also.

Good Luck to your Father in law in his treatment 🙂

First am sorry you had to join this great site, but also to let you know its also the best, its a roller coaster but to make it short, I am now 56 was diagnosed in Jan 2009 went on CDT then had Stem Cell Harvest, then the Stem Cell Transplant in Dec 2009 now in remissin and back at work (light dutie's) and doing great.

    Hi Helen and Mum

Sorry you are here 🙁 but its best place 😀

I am on Zometa and the first time I had it I had flue like symptoms for a few days (aches and pains in bone structure) but it only was that first time, I now go every four weeks for my infusion and so far tomorrow (thurs) will be my 13th and all is going great.

Good Luck to you and Mum8-)

    Hi Joanne

I also am sorry you have had to joint this site, but trust me its the best place for help/advice and folk to listen to us when we need a rant.
As Kay says its an individual illness and not one thing suits another.
Take the pen and Paper and make notes its not going to be easy to remember everything, also ask the Consultant to send you a copy of the report that he send to your Dad's Dr then you can sit down and study it.

Good Luck to you and your Dad

    Hi Vicki

Yes it made me weary and yes strugled to sleep at the same time (strange that Dex) but I got sleeping tablets and took them sparingly as i dint want to get hooked on them 😀

Am not sure if the Spondylitis ur Dad has is connected to the MM but am sure someone will pop on and advise 😎

I am just having four weekly Zometa infusions for my bones (and it seems to be working) and I was told that if I needed to have teeth out I would have to stop the Infusions for a few months before the exrtaction:-0

    Good Luck to you all

    Hi Yamyam

Sorry to see you had to join but you have come to the correct place, and sorry to read you felt let down by the NHS 🙁 but now they have your Dad on the radar all should flow nice,as for me and only me I would go for anything to help put this dreaded MM on the sidelines until a cure comes along so for me I would do it.

Good Luck in the decision your dad has to make.

    Hi Carol

Well a well done you for getting more back that you felt you had lost 😀 its something that would have come natuarly to kick downon the horse to let it kknow who is the boss, well done you.
Good to hear you are back into taking not just your own but Hubbie's horse out, its anothe step forward:-) to as normal as we get with MM :-S

Like the Fact that when you went home you slept like a log it shows you are in touch with what your body needs and that is rest after a day like you have had.

And Carol you tell me about your horses the way it happens am not scared of them in type ha ha (only when am next to them)

Am sure after reading your post you are a strong lady that will cope with all that is thrown at you with this MM 😎 as I say "Onwards and Upwards" to us all:-D
