    Hi Karen

Its a shame I never done a "Blog" or kept notes? as am sure it would help reading what I can recall going through during my 18 month/two years you would be running into the hospital to get it started 😎

We all go through it in differant ways and you just might beat my 16 days 🙂

    Good Luck

    Hi Sarah and Mum

Well I also support your Mum in the decision not to have a SCT I had one but its not for everyone, I wish your Mum a good responce to the treatment she is given and with little sde effects.

Give your Mum my best and tell her i wish her well in the road to recovery, its not over just because she is not having a SCT, stay strong and we are with you and your Mum on this Journey.

    Hey Tina
Its not a moan Girl its an observation that you cant do what you did before and or want to do now, you have undergone "Major Surgery" I know we have no large scars no gaping wound and no stitches to show off but it is Major op we have had.

Being weepy doesnt make you week it will make you better tears are a good release for us.
As for the sleep it is helping us heal when we sleep, get some exercice not too much as your body will tell you it might only be a little walk/stand in your garden to walking a "Little" bit further.

It will take its time and the other replys are correct time is a great healer so take your time Tina as I am near 3 years post sct and still get tired if i do too much and i want to cuss BUT this is better than what it could have been.

    Big Hugs

    Hi Sarah and Mum

As for needing someone at home after my SCT ? I asked my young bride (Elaine) and she says that she went to work but left me a flask of coffee and a pack up (just like work lol) after feeding me breakfast and said i stayed in bed till she got home for the first week and she also said that the first time i went out was Xmas Eve (8 days since leaving hospital)

The reason I say Elaine told me is that I cant remember (just like childbirth lol) am sure it will be better for your mum to have some one with her for a month or so.

    Take Care you all

    Hi Vicki & Colin

Well That devil likes hospital food?? or is it a pretty nurse?? Lol
Tell That Colin yes he has had it rougher than I can recall my time but he will get through it, keep the fluid level topped up and all being well it will keep him healthy.
The IV drip will soon have it sorted and soon be home but ask for a few plates of hospital food so as Colin can stil have a Hospital fix for a few days he he..

    Hi Ann and pete

Its not a bother at all.

so here goes,I had my Blast of Chemo a couple of Months prior to my harvest (my consultant sent wrong patiant??) But I went in one Monday Morning and was sent up to X Ray Dept to have my Femoral Line inserted (no pain no discomfort )

the Tues I was up early breakfast then a Transport car takes me to "Seacroft Hospital" in Leeds where they took some bloods to check, about an hour later the Nurse came back and told me Plenty of Cells floating about so I was going to get ready for the machine, I was on the machine for about ?? I think 3 hours (pain free) then was sent back to Scunthorpe General.

I was told that I hade shoved out enough Cells for near two SCT and that I wouldn't need to go back to Leeds (was booked for three days ) My consultant came back to hospital and took the femoral line out and two hours later went Home.so that stay that should have been a four day stay turned out just a two day stay .

How Pete will feel is Fine no pain no discomrt and one route to the road to remission complete

    Hi Sarah and Mum

A warm welcome to the forum, get comfy and ask away.

First I am ???? 57 and was told i had MM in Jan 2009 done the CTD (that made me go on sick) had the SCT in December 2009, was in Hospital 16 days but 5 of those were lost in sleep :-0
Now I cant give you advice on what yous Mum should do all I can say is that if I came out of remission and was asked if I would do the same treatment my answer would be a great big YES 😀 , dont get me wrong Sarah it aint an easy ride but its a dooable 😎 and would I tell my own Mom or Dad the same that would be a yes.

All the treatment I had since 2009 was Pain free cept two things and that was the BMB and when I had the GCSF growth injections for that I had intermittant pain for about three days 🙁 but with that the saying is No Pain No Gain.

Good Luck in the decision to say yes or no, but what treatment would your Mum have if she said NO to the SCT? as all the treatments for this MM has its problems?
