Hey Tina, you are allowed to cry, I do, on my own, and I'm a tough old boot!
Had my stem cell transplant in February 2013 . I am on the myeloma XI trial, but opted to go for no maintenance, but remain on the trial. So no drugs, no treatment, next appointment in 3 months time, what have I got to cry about, don't know but I do, quietly and would not let family see.
So I think you're allowed, just don't do it too often!
Come on girl, get out there and enjoy life.
    Regards

    Hello Christine.
As Vicky and Colin said don't look too far forward, take one day at a time.
Those of us who have had a stem cell transplant have found that we are all effected in different ways, some sail through it, some have problems. For those that had problems they were only short lived. The net result we hope will be a long remission.
Stay strong, it is all doable.

Hello Mary, glad that Charlie has had his stem cell transplant, obviously all has gone well. I had mine in February this year, was out after three weeks. My wife cleaned the place, we had wipes in the loo and bathroom and odd places around the house. We have a very active border collie dog, my real regret was that I couldn't take him out for a few weeks. We didn't stop him wandering about but I didn't stroke him much.
We didn't get to hung up about disinfecting or sterilising everything.
My wife slept in the spare room for a few weeks simply because I was quite restless. We didn't have many visitors for a few weeks.
I was on NO medication , only antibiotics, I kept them going for ages, months.
Sounds like you're going to have 'fun' if you've sold the house! Stress!!!!!!
After maybe 6 weeks I started walking the dog, driving short distances and gradually getting back to normal.
I am on the myeloma XI trial but opted for having no maintenance drugs, so, no drugs, no treatments, next clinic3 months time.
Good luck with everything, don't get paranoid about it, Charlie will be fine.
    Regards

Hello Melvin and welcome to both you and your wife. None of this is fair, but please dont beat yourself up, you need to be strong for your wife and for your children. Like us all I bet you would rather be somewhere else, but hey, ho, we are all here to help, listen, give advice, sympathy ( if youboth need it) we are all in the same boat, but at different levels and different places,
Good luck to your wife in her journey to remission , it does seem very daunting at the start, but I'm sure you will learn more as time goes on.
Any questions, as Tom says, just ask!
    Regards

    Hi Terry, interesting four weeks.
I've mentioned this before on the forum with regard to BMB.
I attend the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment,I was worried sick before my BMB. No cause for concern, they give you gas and air and the whole process is absolutely painless, why don't they do that at other hospitals!
