    Hi scott

A warm welcome to the site everyone would rather not know about but is such a help, I have no advice every mm seems to be so different! I do find the American sites scary so dont bother with them.

    Sorry david!

I knew that conkers did something!!

Maybe quinine is the answer. Does tonic water have quinine in it? Maybe a few gin and tonic at bedtime may help until a script is available.

my mother made elderflower champagne once all the bottles blew up one night in the kitchen it was a revolting mess, my mother was teetotal, never did understand what she was up too!!

Bridget please could i ask you to cut the red ribbon on my shed opening? I promise proper champage + Harveys + hopefully fantastic acoustic music, i promise not to sing too painful for all the revllers!

    All are invited!!

    best wishes

Good Luck Gaye, Phil,Kieth and Min with all the new treatments, Gordon is recovering from his 2nd sct and vows never again, so i am finding it very helpful to read of the trail blazing treatments, though gordon had revlamid which kept the mm dormant for 2 years with no side effects except for the dreaded dex!!

    Best wishes

    Hi Kieth

Good luck with the the pomalidomide, gordon was on a revlamid trail which gave him two good years without mm ( apart from the the b dex). He also had velcaid + dex prior to the last transplant and reponded well though his platlets dropped after each treatment.

Keep us posted and Gaye please let us know how things go it is great there are so many drugs out there just hope we can get hold of them!!

    Hi

As has already been posted, sorry you have had to join us but welcome!!!

My husband has mm and has just had a 2nd stem cell transplant in dec, the 1st transplant lasted 6 years of more or less a normal life. I think i often bury my head in the sand as i am sure that really gordon will get better really!! Idiot!
His parents don't really (want) to understand and think he will get better soon ( 9 years later they are still waiting!)I find it difficult to have time for them as they have never offered any suppourt to us or our as they were at the time young children even my very crippeled mother wanted to do the washing when gordon went in for the 1 st transplant, she could not even do her own!Bless.
Good luck if you need to talk to someone the myeloma team on this site are very good, as is the macmillian service who you can get hold of though your or your brothers gp, he sounds aa though he is in denial which is another way of coping with this nasty, trouble is he will become exhasted.

    best wishes
