Mikes velcade has stopped too much pain in his legs to continue and the PP level has not came down enough, 55 starting point, 26 bak up too 30. Thy have in him two weeks off all treatment except for b12 and b6 vitamins. Thy are thinking off stem cell treatment but not sure if Michael is strong enough r it. Mike had a stroke 11years ago which as caused its own problems, They have spoken about h the treatment might cause death, but I asked what happens if he doesn't have treatment, not sure i got that answer. Mike is not sure he wants the treatment, I do, anything to can keep him going I will take our chances. I have been one off work for three weeks with stress and my work are carrying out an investigation because I made an error in the budget because I have been under so much stress for sometime, they should try being in my shoes. Rant over

    Hi Jean

What can I say? You are at a level of stress that most people cannot understand:-S

Work wise if they have any understanding they should give you tine off!!!

You say you will do anything and take your chances, and I am sure Mike will do what ever you want, but it's not about you it's about Mike,I do know how hard it is for you,but Mike has to choose. It is his life!!!:-(

What options does he have left????,how about any old treatments that did work???
I wish I could be more help, the sad thing is people with Myeloma is that infection is the biggest killer,:'-(

I wish you well Jean,if I can help go to my profile and send a private E Mail. Eve

    Eve thank you
I have been looking at the site but not posting I have just done a posting a neuropathy. Its been a tough few weeks. We had a great holiday with our daughter her husband and my sons grand children, shame he couldn't be there.

Mike came out of hospital no compression of the spine. He has only had velcade as a treatment 4 1/2 cycles. They seem to struggle to know what to do for Mike because of the stroke he had 11 years ago, a lot of the treatment can cause clots so he cant have them. He is very up and down at the moment. He says he is not going to have anymore treatment, not sure if he means it or not. He is having a lot of pain in his legs and he is finding that hard. Back at the hospital on the 12th I want us to see the main man and want some honest talking.

I have been back to work on half days last week and this, that seems to be fine, I still get a bad feeling in my chest when I have to go in and I am just finding it hard. I think the stress has caused my brain not to recall or retain information connected with work. I am thinking of giving it all up and get my pension and do some part time work. I have a very responsible job as a business manager.

    Hi Jean

Just read your other post !!

Jean have you asked why he cannot have Clexane Injections, and take his chance with the other Chemo,s???
Slim has had mass blood clots on lungs with pneumonia ,plus a blockage in his artery from hip to knee,he has had Clexane injections most of the time, but now on a tablet RIVAROXABAN suppose to do the same job,but I know people who have strokes have to be careful, but if he decides to stop treatment he has nothing to loose.

As for your job Jean,if you can afford to give up work,it might be a blessing in disguise . I am a great believer in you work to live, not live to work.but what ever floats your boat.
I ran a B&B for 19 years,I sold up and never looked back,I am a great believer in as one door closes another one opens, must admit missed the money, but you change your priorities . Love Eve
