I can edit but not delete, am I doing sometHing wrong?

Well I just posted a test message then clicked on the word 'delete' (next to the word 'edit' and after asking me if I wanted 'to to delete' it (a misprint in the script I assume) it allowed me to delete the message.

mmmmmmmmm I now I must be doing something wrong. I can see were it says edit, but it doesnt say delete beside it. Let me try again later, will post again if I cant get it to work

Yes! – the Delete option is beside the Edit on all additional comments – but not on the first one if you start a new thread. ie if you start a new discussion off you cant delete it. I can ind of see why that should be. Sort of.

Yes, probably only admin can delete a thead starter post. It is like this on a diet board I moderate at.

So if you posted something as a new thread then want to delete it, the best you can do is edit it by deleting your original text and leaving a message saying something like 'deleted by me as I changed my mind' or something similar.
Then admin/moderators can see it and delete it to tidy up the board if they want.
