I just got an world wide multi trip annual policy (excluding the USA, Caribbean and Canada) with World First for £136 which I thought was pretty good. It includes Myeloma and there is the usual questions about whether and when you had the transplant. At the time I was about 3 mths post transplant. You can apply online too. However I am not on any maintenance therapy such as Revlimid so whether that makes a difference I dont know. Have been to Alicante for long weekend since taking out policy and am planning trips to Swedish Lapland for dog sledding, skiing and northern lights spotting and Tenerife (to thaw out!)

Hi Wendy that's also a good quote I was only looking at single trips but I suppose an annual policy might be a good idea, I might want to go elsewhere as well8-) I am told that Revlimid is only a therapy not chemotherapy so there is not supposed to be a problem and there is less risk of DVT with it than thalidomide. Enjoy the skiing, I've never been.

    Hi Helen
Our last holiday we used a company called insurancewith http://www.insurancewith.com/ they specialise with people with existing conditions and cover all cancers. Katherine refered to Revlamid as maintenanace therapy as oposed to chemotherapy and bearing in mind Peter had kidney damage and bone damage not to mention a double heart bypass. I amanaged to get it down to under £100 with full disclosure. Found them on the sky news website as the founder of the company had fought cancer needed a holiday and could not affort the insurance so developed the company specificaly for cancer sufferers.
    Have a nice one

    Hi Phil

Do hope the reduced dose is good for you – I asked on Mnday if they would put me back on a maintenance with a reduced dose but my specialist said that I was "passed that stage now" and says I should just enjoy what level of fitness I have now. Anyway hope all goes well with you and yes, I´m sure that the outside life is helping me feel a bit more awake – but I still snooze a lot! Keep smiling.

    Take care

Hi Bridgett and all those others kind enough to reply.

Just to let you know that we have taken the specialist at her word when she said to enjoy what time I had left (we have decided that´s 30 years in my case) and have beggered off to Spain for a holiday. Sunshine is great and it´s a real treat just to sit out and rest (although it´s rather windy but at least dry and sunny).
Wish you could all join me but come over in thought anyway, cheers to all.

Love and prayers to those going through especially hard treatments at present and their gallant supporters.
