Hiya all
Has anyone else suffered with their voice when on Dex? Mines croaky husky and nearly gone. The same thing happened before when I was on CDT.

Yes my partner had a husky voice when he was on dexamethasone. We weren't sure whether that was due to that or the chemo drugs. It soon went though. His voice also seemed a bit higher than his normal tone.

Yes franks voice was very hoarse when he was on CDT and always worse while on Dex. Hope it eases up soon

Yes i had the husky and high pitch voice whilst on Dex am still on it and still get it also suffer with hiccups for the days I'm on dex.Hope all goes well for you.

Same here… whenever I am on treatment (which has always included Dex) my voice goes husky and breaks a lot, which doesn't help when I want to record vocals (singer/songwriter as a serious hobby).:-(

Dex is the only constant of these occurrences so I have laid the blame at its door (poor thing, it does get a bad press when all it is trying to do is help).:-D

Yes, me too. My voice went croaky. It's never really come back to normal but it's less hoarse when I'm not on steroids.

Yes, I too had a bit of a husky voice while on CDT. Glad to say it is now back to normal. My eyes were also a bit cloudy sometimes. Also gone now.

I had husky voice too, unlike Tom- some thought it was very attractive- I thought a change of career into vice was imminent but it all settled down when I stopped taking it, phew lucky escape there.!!;-)

Yes like everyone else I had and have a husky voice at this very moment. I also have a very bad cough but I'm back on the Dex Sat which will get rid of it. The husk is nothing compared to the cough.

Thankyou all for replying. I had the dex two weeks ago and my voice still hasn't come back to normal.I restart the damn stuff on Monday again. At least Gayle will be happy as I wont be able to speak to moan!!!

Slim use to get grumpy on the dex,I would have given anything for him to shut up,so I can understand how Gayle feels. LOL

Soon be over,apart from that is the Velcade working for you hiccups were the worst thing,still is very loud and we can be any were,its 8 months since any chemo treatment and the last lot was for SCT,but those hiccups do not want to leave Slim.I just look the other way and pretend I am not with him,

Hi,/I'm on Dex + velcade just on 2nd week of third cycle, since starting my throat is alway croaky & dry especially in the morning , odd tastes and a husky voice and I'm very prone to soar throaty coughts first cuppa tea in the morning usually helps although even that dosen;t taste right!!!
