Last week Peter had a final check up in readiness for our holiday and yippee we got the ok to go so we are off to visit our son and his wife in Dubai for 16 days. Just the packing to do then we are ready. 17 months ago when we got Peter's diagnosis our world fell apart and i could never envisage that we would be going away on holiday together again. Peter still has pain in his back, he was very badly affected with crushed vertebrea's before we got a diagnosis, but with painkillers he can cope.

    Good news indeed.

I can remember the feeling of "no more holidays ever again" when I was first diagnosed but of course I now know that to be totally untrue.

We've been busy planning (and booking) lots of little holidays for 2013 already.

At the end of the day, you've just got to go for it while the goings good!

    Hi Trish
That is lovely news, worry always there in the back ground, but say to mm and worry(s-d It),this is your time so enjoy.None of us know what the future brings8-)

We are off to NZ on the 25th of Nov.return New Years Eve,it is exactly 34 months since we have seen one of our grandchildren, the other one flew home with are daughter last year.So it,s NZ here we come.
We did spend 3 month in NZ so this time we will just be staying at my daughters, may be a few weekends away, depends how Slim is.

You have to make the most of the time you have,I know what you mean when you say,you could not have imagined doing this,I hope all the people who are going through the mm journey take some positive thoughts from this.Eve

    Hi everyone

Just an update on our holiday. we had a fabulous time staying with our son and his wife in Dubai. Peter did get a slight cold but we didnt need to see a doctor and he recovered in a couple of days. We had a lazy time and did a few more bits at the weekend when Ian and Sam were home from work. It was just lovely lazing by the pool and chilling out. The sun was a welcome sight after leaving a very wet and rain sodden England. We went up to the viewing deck on Burj Kalifa, amazing views. We had a special champagne brunch for our 40th wedding anniversary, a present to us from Ian and Sam, that was amazing, i have never seen so much food and drink in one place before……it was very nice. We also went on a river trip. 19 months ago when Peter was diagnosed with Myeloma i never believed that i would be going on holiday again with Peter, we were both overwhelmed. We are going back to Dubai again in May to meet our twin grandchildren who are due to be born in April. Exciting times for us xx

    Hi Trish

Yes it is wonderful that first holiday, after SCT,as you say you just could not believe this would be possible after Myeloma,so just go out there and grab a slice of life.

we are just back from NZ,blood test Zometa then consultant, and with a little bit of luck off to France in our motor home, then home for 1 st march as my daughter won a holiday to the Bahamas for 2 people.so kids need Nana.

I may not have Slim back as he was,but what I have is special, but he can be a grumpy old man still, cannot let his head get to big. Love Eve
