Ian got out of hospital on Thursday night. He has to go to FVR hospital every day for a month to get his antibiotic through his hickman line. The hospital is 15 mins away and he is taken straight away and we are only in good10 mins. which is great . His back wound kept opening up with movement so the doctor has packed it and the district nurse changes the dressing every day.

It is so good to have him home. It was a lovely day today. Went for a coffee after hospital visit then into Stirling . Pushed Ian in the wheelchair to get some fresh air and some excersise for me then had a nice lunch.

    Hi Maureen and Ian

Well done to Ian for getting Home now lets hope he stays home, its good to have the hospital close by as it takes a lot of pressure of you all.

As for the Back Op and it keeping opening up I think its best way to have it packed and changed daily as that way it heals from the inside out am sure its best all round.

    Stay well and stay warm

    Love to you Both

    Hi Tom

Ian had the same packing on his bed sore. We know it will take months to heal hopefully his light chains will be stable for a while as the wound won't heal if he is on chemotherapy .

    Good to have him home.

    Hi Maureen.
I’m glad to hear Ian is out of hospital at last. I hope his wound heals quickly and you can both start enjoying a “normal” life the best you can.

    Every day is a gift.
    Unwrap it gratefully

    Hi Maureen,

It was great to read that Ian got home, even if a little later than planned. I hope he’s doing well now and even if the weather isn’t so favourable you’re finding plenty of things indoors to keep you occupied!!

take care and enjoy the run up to Christmas,

Wound is being reviewed every week in Edinburgh and is healing nicely. Still going every morning to FVRH for antibiotics. Up at am7.30 every morning and feeling tired.

Looking forward to Christmas with the family. My daughter will help with the cooking. Love seeing the granddaughters.

    Merry Christmas

    Hi Graham

Had a nice Christmas with the family and spending New Year with friends. Ian is still on antibiotics for the wound in his back but we only attend hospital once a week. He is also receiv i ng physiotherapy and can now walk short distances on his crutches. His FLC are rising, now 538 so getting BMB soon and talking about more treatment, probably CTD as he didn’t finish all the cycles first time round.

    Happy and healthy New Year.
