The chemo nurse came today to give Michael velcade and got him admitted to hospital. She is concerned about the pain in his back and legs and he is having trouble peeing. They are going to do an MRI tomorrow. Getting admitted was the quickest way of getting the MRI done.

    Hi jean

Just a qiuick one,as in patient he will have priority,so hospital is the best place, bed blocking, makes everything go fast.

Hang in there it could be anything, but I would be concerned with pain, and inability to pass urine.
You have a nurse who is on the ball,so worth keeping. Love Eve

    Hi Jean

As Eve says, your nurse was on the ball. Do hope it is nothing but if by any chance there spinal chord compression, the sooner they are onto it the better.

Hope they have a fan in Michael's room!

Do let us know how he gets on.

    Love Mavis x

glad to say no spinal compression. they are thinking of doing some radiotherapy, the pain has been from neuropathy pain. they have put him on morphine, tablet and oral and increased the pregabalin. he looks a lot better. they are probably going to stop the velcade but we will know more next Thursday

    Hi Jean

Well it's very good news, concerning compression of the spine,I did no think it was that,as it happens so quickly, some one I know her husband was in the car,and when it came to getting out,he could not walk that's why ambulances, and boards should be used .

I hope the raidotherapy goes well, and it gives some pain relieve, try to take this opportunity to get some rest,I am a fine one to tell you this,as I know what you should do,but I find it impossible myself to rest, but your body needs to reccouperate. Eve
