Hi Eve & Slim,

Time and distance… two strange phenomena. Last year must seem like a million miles away for you both… what with bloods and readings that contradicted each other, seemingly getting better but actually getting nowhere and Slim having to put up with strange and painful ways of measuring his mm…

…but here you are on the cusp of his SCT… its actually happening and he is firmly back on track.8-)

I really am as pleased as Punch… and all I can say is 'That's The Way To Do It!":-D

My best wishes, prayers and thoughts positive are with you both all the way.:-)

Next appointment next Monday ,told no chance of going away out of the country, before SCT.So off to bed shattered, what a journey.Good Night Eve

So its Kings again on Monday, for 6 hr drip,Slim has decided to go for SCT to see if he can maintain a reasonable quality of health.

Lovely day on S Coast, shame we have to go to London,on Monday,we are staying at daughters in W Kent,so the journey will not be so long.
So looking forward to spring,I think when Slim is in hospital for upto a month, the bluebells will be out,so will miss them again.

Looks if are 1st wedding anniversary he might just get out, still have not had party for wedding,so when he gets over this will have to make it a big party.Eve

Thank You Everyone
For your good wishers, very very impressed with Kings Chemo unit,it took us be surprise, after local hospital, the staff were very impressive, not one walked by looking down at the floor, and everyone kept checking all monitors.

Gives us more confidence in SCT.

Slim sleeping after busy time, next stage is harvest,so date fixed, will let you know how it goes,Thanks again for all your good wishers.Eve

I cannot praise Kings highly enough (food apart and that is not their fault it's all sub-contracted out)

They were great whem Stephen was there and nothing was too much trouble.

Good luck to you both

Love from Gill x

Hi Eve,

When I think of some of the hoops you two have had to jump through and the barriers, administrative, medical and staff related, that you had to take on, address and beat down… all of which should never have been put in place or, on a couple of occasions deliberately erected… well, suffice to say I am delighted that at such a juncture in Slim's treatment you have finally, finally found a hospital that will afford you everything he needs to progress.

I could spit feathers at the imbalance and injustice afforded MM patients outside the major centres. I am fortunate, (although to be fair I made my own luck at a great cost) to have found the City Hospital, Nottingham, where the treatments, staff knowledge, nurse competencies and general courtesies have been second to none.

We all, every one of us, deserve to have the same.>:-(

But hold on… another time, another place.:-)

I am so happy for you Eve… yes, Slim has still got to go through the procedures and all that follows but knowing where the procedures are going to take place and the support that goes with them, fills me with confidence on your behalf… love it, embrace it and from now on in, and may that be a long, long time, you should, you can, you must, demand nothing less.8-)

Much love and regards to you both.:-)

Hi Tom…

I had a 3:15 moment… and stayed awake for an hour or so, just catching up… but the good news is I had 4 hours before and 5 after… not bad for the night following a 'DEXDAY TM' and without any form of sleeping draughts (I don't bother because I know it won't do any good)… so I left it to nature and nature obliged.8-)

With so much bad news and grief hovering around the site this late winter I am so glad that we have some positive movement from one of our nearest and dearest… two people who must have have feared the worst on several occasions last year… and yet here they are, on the brink of the next crucial stage, with what must seem like a fresh start. At least that's the way I see it… and it is doing me the power of good.:-D

And I wrote another song this morning.;-) 😎

Dai.
