Had a lovely holiday in Nice with my daughter. Weather was beautiful and we did the usual tourist sights including Monte Carlo. Had a cocktail in Café Paris which is not cheap but what is money! We stopped of at a small village called Eze on the way and the uphill climb was worth it for the view of the coast. It was stunning. Went into the cathedral for lost souls and lit a candle for all of you in the hope of a cure.

Had dinner is Luc Salsedo who worked with master chef Alain Ducasse, it was delicious. Also had lunch in the bistro at hotel Negreso on the promenade. The inside is like a carousel really pretty and the food was really good.

Ian progressing and now walking a little further with zimmer. Transferred into the car yesterday with a turner but physio expects him to use zimmer before he gets home.

Blood tests on Monday so hopefully Myeloma is stable.

    Hi Maureen

It sounds like you had a wonderful break in Nice with your daughter. Before our kids were born, we spent 10 years of our holidays touring around the South of France coastline from Italy to Spain. We have some really happy memories, especially the markets, French bread and beautiful coastal roads. Eze is a great spot with terrific scenery. We visited Monte Carlo a couple of times and on one occasion were not allowed into the casino because of wearing shorts. It's taken us another 30 years before we have visited another casino in Tenerife this year!

You must be happy with Ian's progress and improved mobility.

Sounds a great trip Maureen, says me green with envy.

Wherever we have gone in the world we have lit a candle in the local church, be it giant cathedrals or a humble one room shacks. We started at the death of our young son Robert, in 1986. I find it spiritually a real nice thing to do and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.

    Kindest regards – vasbyte

    hi Jan

We do like to eat well and we did this in Nice. Didn't go into casino as I'm not a gambler and I think you have to book 2 weeks in advance for a tour. Scenery is beautiful as is weather.

I am happly that Ian is progressin well and due to get discharged. Consultant said no SCT at moment as he has to mobile but will get second opinion if light chains rise drastically and all treatments have been tried. Consultants believe that the new treatments outweight the need for an SCT.

    Take care

I too light candles when I visit churches in different parts of the world and find it very emotional.

How tragic that your young son died. What age was he?

I will keep praying as I believe in the power of prayer and hopefully they will find a cure for myeloma in the near future.
