    Hi All,
Haven't been on for a few weeks have been on hols but back now and all caught up I think!
Well just wanted to spread some positivity my mum has just started her 3rd Cycle on Velcade, she has some steroids aswell which we thought they had stopped on the 1st Cycle but they appeared again with the 2nd Cycle one of them is the dex one I have seen you all write about.
Mum was told a few weeks ago that her kidney function has really improved and today was told her results for kidneys had just got back into the normal range. Aswell as this her pp levels had come down from 28 to 12 and now today she has been told they are down to 7!!
I just wanted to say that at the beginning its so scary (and still is sometimes)but after the 1st 5 or 6 weeks things really started to calm down and my mum has improved so much, I believe the 1st Cycle was the worst and i wonder if its because her kidneys were so bad as her body seems to cope much better with the Velcade now? I really hope this reassures anyone who is suffering at the beginning or worrying about a loved one x I know its individual and you never know how long the good results will keep coming but my family is starting to feel normal again my mum and dad have even been on a day out and popping here and there. The consultant has put back the start of mums 4th cycle by a week so that they can have a holiday that was already booked! In the beginning they had to cancel one to Scotland and didnt think they would be going on the next one either, its just a little trip to Norfolk but is so fab that they can go:-)))))
    Love to you all

    Hi Rachael

Thats great news it all sounds like it is falling into place 😀 and great to hear Kidneys are improving.

I think its a case of making do with the side effects if its clearing a big bit of the MM.

I hope your Mum and Dad enjoy the well deserved holiday 😎

    Love to you all

Thanks Tom x I'm not sure about the pp levels and the meanings but they did say they expect them to plateaux at about 6 that was a few weeks ago when they were 12 but to already of dropped to 7 seems good and she is not even half way through the 6 cycles yet!
Love reading all your positive posts and seeing your smiling face!!
