For any newcomers, I'm sure you will find the support and shared experiences on this site invaluable. You may also want to check out some blogs that myeloma patients have written/are writing. I've found it helpful, reassuring and often inspiring to hear of others' experiences…

There is a website that lists blogs by, about and for people who live with myeloma: http://www.myelomablogs.org/

This is my blog: http://jetblackliving.wordpress.com/ if anyone wishes to read it.

And here are a few I follow, in the UK:

Wendy in Manchester: http://wendyduffield.wordpress.com/ (Living in remission)
Sean in Chester: http://mylifewithmyeloma.blogspot.co.uk/ (Sadly Sean died earlier this year)
Mike (and Lorna) in Wolverhampton: http://lornaandmickyour-loma.blogspot.co.uk/ (Living in remission)
Debs in High Wycombe: https://debsjourneywithmyeloma.wordpress.com/ (Living in remission)

    Also abroad:

    John in Ontario, Canada: http://www.snippe.ca/
    Carole in Washington, USA: http://caroleleighi.blogspot.co.uk/
Lonnie in California, USA: http://nesseler-medical.blogspot.co.uk/ (Sadly Lonnie also died earlier this year)
Sander in the Netherlands: http://en.sandersblog.nl/ (Written in English as well as Dutch)

Maybe other people will add some that they have found useful.

And maybe someone will be inspired to start one of their own. I've found that writing helps me to make sense of my feelings and to understand the disease and its treatment.

    Happy reading!

    Hi Jet,
A list of blogs in one place, just what I was looking for. I will have a good look through and follow a few, only recently diagnosed at 45 so hoping to learn from other peoples real experiences – doctor said the bone marrow biopsy would just be uncomfortable. Aye, right.I'll be watching him in future.
Thanks for the info, hope your well.

    Hi Jet

I know Emma has already mentioned her blog in another post but I thought it was worthwhile adding it to your list.

    Jet,

I had been following Lonnie Nesseler for a number of years and your news that he died earlier this year is such a shock. He was a true pioneer.

    God bless you Lonnie.

    Hi Lorna

Thanks for adding Emma's blog to the list. I've checked it out and made contact with her. It's very well written, don't you think? How amazing and how awful to have myeloma so very young. 49 was way too young for me and I guess for Mike too in his mid-fifties.

    Hi Jet

I thought I'd add another one to the list while at the same time bumping this thread up for those new to the site.

FYI, one of the best sites for cutting edge information is the Myeloma Beacon at http://www.myelomabeacon.com. It has a great staff, forum and blog aggregator to link you to all myeloma-related blogs. Also, Pat Killingsworth has a great informational blog at http://www.multiplemyelomablog.com. He is a leading myeloma advocate/patient who has written several myeloma related books relevant for all myeloma patients regardless of what country they live in.
