We saw the surgeon at the Western General in Edinburgh yesterday and Ian is having his operation on Tuesday 12 November. The operation will take one hour and he should be home in 2 to 3 days. Bones look like they have fused and there is no further damage. Light chains now 463 but all books etc still good so no treatment yet.

Ian's mum passed away last night. She was 87 and a lovely kind natured woman. His mum and dad have been married for 63 years and she will be greatly missed.

Not been a good year for us but hopefully all will go well with the operation.

Sorry to hear about Iains mum, It just adds more distress on top of what you have anyway. This year is nearly over so let's hope next year improves.

    Dear Maureen & Ian,
So sorry to hear about Ian's mum.
I do hope the operation is a success. Nov 12 is like an anniversary for me: it's when I had my transplant.
I know the Western General quite well.
    Best,
    Eva
