Hello , I was just just wondering if any one knows how long the waiting time is for SCT . My husbands consultant has written to MRI 3 weeks ago but wondered if any one can advise me on the sort of time  frame we are looking at ?

Thank you in advance of your reply. Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,

In my experience, there was about a 6 week gap between the end of treatment and the SCT. Not sure if this was normal, but that was my experience.

    Wishing you all the best

    Thank you Greg

I am finding the not knowing things like dates etc , quite hard to deal with will just be glad when we hear. I am bit of a planner and it’s been hard having to let that go. It’s hard letting something else take over .

    Regards

    Hi

I had a SCT in 2015 and one of the things which I found hard to deal with was a delay in getting it done.

I had a date to go to Southampton General but due to the lack of beds my admission was put off a few times and I think I actually went in about 3 weeks later. If I had known in advance that this was a possibility it would have been OK but I had stopped work and mentally prepared myself only for nothing to happen.

I don’t know if your husband will also have his admission delayed but I have since been told that it is not uncommon so please don’t be concerned if it happens.

    good luck

    Hi Brian
Thank you for that . We  had a couple of times we had to wait for beds when admitted with infections so I suppose it’s to be expected but I for some reason hadn’t considered that this admission could have last minute hiccups. But I will be prepared now . I would rather be prepared in any of this it makes dealing with it easier .              Regards
    Vanessa
