Hi Franks GP has offered him the shingles vaccine. Has anyone else had this. We have to check with consultant on Wednesday to see if he can have it along with the flu vaccine. Last time we spoke she said the jury was still out re being re-vaccinated after SCT

Anyone got experience of this or any thoughts
    Best wishes to all

I was told by my specialist that I would definitely need to have my 'childhood' vaccinations redone about a year after the SCT. I was also told that some of these were 'live vaccines' and to be avoided so best bet talk it through with your specialist.

I've definitely been told NOT to have the chickenpox/shingles vaccine as it's a live virus.

I did have a letter a year after my SCT listing "childhood" vaccines that needed to be redone, but have only opted for the flu and pneumonia ones to be done in the autumn.

I have never had any of my vaccines redone.

When there is a danger of shingles I am given a tablet to take – sorry cannot think of the name of the drug.

    Kind regards – vasbyte
