Hi Andy  – great to hear from you. We were all worried about you.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a difficult time but I’m glad you are feeling a little better.  Like some of the others I don’t “do” Facebook so I was grateful to Fiona for keeping us updated.

Take it easy & listen to your body

    Love & hugs,

    C x

    Hi Andy,

Sounds like another near miss, if a cat has 9 lives how many have you got? Good to know you’re on the mend.

    Hi everyone.

It’s another no sleep annoying steriod night! Though it is the start of cycle 25.

Hi Annlynn I’m being treated at Stockton North Tees Hospital as my main hospital I’ve been around various others as treatment has demanded.

Hi Richard how are you getting along. I don’t get on here much and may of missed your posts – sorry.

As to my condition I had a consult with my specialist nurse yesterday and all my bloods are good and my PP’s have come down a little from what was hopefully a blip last month. They had stopped my treatment whilst they were playing around with me in ICU.

    Every day is a gift.

    Morning Andy,

Things are ticking along here quite nicely. My IgG is far lower than post SCT so the medics are looking at reducing Rev to 15mg and Dexy to 20mg. I’m waiting on the results of the latest blood test. I still have to provide a urine sample and did have a MRT last month. The scan showed no increase to the bone lesions so my consultant is happy for me to have Zometa quarterly instead of monthly.

The general concensus is a little light exercise is good for the bone strength so I work part time in a job that requires a bit of lifting and a lot of walking, I also cycle to work which I believe helps to keep things in check. There’s just a bit of bone ache after a long period but I still don’t need the painkillers, I’ve not taken any for 18 months. I have to say I only work part time and the day after dexy can be a killer because of the tiredness but so far no major issues.

So as Tom would say “onwards and upwards”

    Evening/Morning ( it’s 00:40) Richard,

It sounds like you’re doing okay I think small improvements are better than a big changes because rightly or wrongly I think if your condition improves rapidly it could go the other way rapidly too. Working and exercising will do you a world of good. The fitter you are the better you overcome the hurdles the myeloma throw in your way. I was told just before I was shipped out of ICU by the top Doc that the fitness I carried over from my running days help me pull through.

    Every day is a gift.

    Andy
