    Fingers crossed please.

Stephen has always been one of the people with mm whose bloods do not show high pp levels. Boney damage has been the beastie that shows how bad his mm is.

Because we were going to France for a while Stephen's specialist said he would like to check him over before we went off for 5 or 6 weeks. Bloods taken all OK:-) Stephen was honest and said that he was starting to identify the differeance between shingles pain and mm pain, and his back was starting to ache and he had noticed a slight swelling in his back "a few days ago" (he had not told me).

The result was that after examining Stephen Dr Shafi went from Mr Smiley to Mr Frown. CT scan booked for tomorrow morning.

Best case scenario it's bu**er all. Worst case scenario 2 SCTs. velcade and revlimid have not touched it and we are at the end.

    Hence request. Fingers Crossed.

    Hi Gill
My fingers are crossed for you:-)
Why do men never tell you what,s going on ? Slim says it because I make a fuss and would cart him off to hospital!!!!,I call it caring !!

Lets hope its just a blip Gill, and you will get that holiday. I envy you, being able to get away,it is now 17 months since we came back from France, every day I walk along the sea front and most days you can see France, some times on a clear day,the cliffs are very clear,so pure envy is in my heart.Eve

    Thanks for crossed fingers Eve.

I hope you get to France soon. Funny thing is Stephen's heart is very much in France but, try ashe may, The language defies him.

    Love from Gill xx

Dear Gill what a bugger!! I really hope it turns out to a minor blip ! Gill having been at the point Stephen is on more than one occasion my advice is dont panic yet ! Stephens doctors will be actively looking for the best possible trerment for him There is radiotherapy as one possible option , longer term there is Bendamustine which although it didnt work for me has been very successful for lots of people. Fingers and toes crossed for you both aqnd hopefully you will be in France before you know it Love to you both Bridget x

    Hi Gill,

My fingers are crossed for a false alarm, or at least something which may be unpleasant, needing whatever they can throw at it but not directly mm related and certainly not indicative of Rev failure. 😐

Stephen no longer has the strength and vitality of before but even so I could not manage to go to France doing little day by day chores etcetera, never mind the stresses and strains of travel… yet you have both done that recently. Why can't this 'swelling' and associated aches and pains be related to those exertions? I hope it is… and I hope I have the chance to say 'more fool you'.

    I really, really do.:-(

    Much love and everything crossed.:-)

Merci tout le monde de vos bons souhaits

Thanks all for your good wishes (I hope I got that right. It is quite easy to say something very rude in a language that is not easy for you hence the true story of the guy in France that asked for penis flavoured jam (wanted pine flavoured honey, and NEVER say I am hot as it means your feeling sexy8-) I also know of someone that wanted creasote stuff for his fence. He could not understand why the whole of the "brico" (diy store) were in fits of laughter. He had asked for some protective for wood. Translated he had asked for a wooden condom 🙂 🙂

I am sure that you can all imagine the joy that I felt this morning phoning the b and b we use when we go to France (the days of doing the 16 hour trip in one go are long over for both of us) deux personnes deux petits chiens chiens d'une nuit svp.

With the receptionist's little bit of Engl;ish and my little bit of french. We are on our way next Wednesday8-)

    Love to all Gillxx

PS never say I am hot in french it means you are very sexy. I once told our neighbour (in french) that he was he was a tease. Wrong word again I had told him that he was a lady that tried to excite men by batting eyelids, dressing sexily etc.

They could hardly explain for laughing

I am not sure what Dai meant but I know it was good wishes and hey Tom I never forget any of you I don't post as often as usual but only because the Internet connection in the middle of the French wilderness is very hit and miss (more miss than hit) I can read you all most times but answering is a nightmare. Very frustrating when you are as opinionated as me:-S

    Stay well you lot xxxxxx

If you know what I meant then you are right to pretend that you don't… if you genuinely don't know what I meant then you don't need to pretend… best not really.:-D

But it was good wishes of the 'thank heaven for that' variety… I am sure that Stephen can translate.;-)

Go girl, pack now and go… and enjoy every single minute of your time in France.

If Rev & Dex takes for me then I am considering going to visit my daughter in Spain. A professional singer, she is presently in a duo playing at a hotel in Fuerteventura but she moves next week to play for a group of hotels for the summer season in a small town about 20 kilometres north of Barcelona. I think that my condition, particularly my extensive bone damage plus my DVT, makes flying a real problem… but it is possible to drive to Portsmouth or Plymouth and take the ferry to Santander or Bilbao…from which it is a six hour drive under the shade of the Pyrenees to Barcelona. If I continue to improve and Rev deals with my shoulder problem then the journey is 'doable'. I have planned on 2.5 days there and 2.5 days back, of which there will be 10 hours driving each way. 5 days there and back, six days with Amy with a couple of days for whatever calls loudest… the outward journey should take care of that. And anyway, I plan to ask my brother and his wife to accompany us… they live in Swindon, which means he will come and collect us, do most of the driving in his big comfortable car and…knowing him, pay for most of the expenses… cheap hotel rates arranged by Amy included. Would I feel the slightest bit guilty… not a jot. One, he can afford it and two I'm his big brother (by 14 months) and we love each other deeply.8-) 🙂

I can only hope… Janet is a bit dubious about my capability to handle such a journey but I believe, given the circumstances, that I could… just could. Plus I have never been to either France or Spain… and I love sailing.8-)

    Dai.
