    Thankyou for your kind words

I give all of you my regards and hope you're all doing okay!

It's not just my dad I'm running for, I'm running for all those people who would love to be able to do what I do, but can't, and running for those who suffer…[Read more]

  • Hi, I'm Joe Slater, 20 years of age and a student.

Sadly, my dad (Arthur Slater – 52) lost his battle with Myeloma almost a year ago, now, and if I'm being honest the pain still hasn't healed.
I'm still at University (second year) and doing well.
I'm making it my goal in the next few years to put Myeloma on the map.
    I've done a few…[Read more]

  • I'm still running hard people! Thank-you so much for your support and kindness. It's amazing how generous people who you have never met can actually be, so thank-you!

I'm okay, and mum is just getting by each day. We're sticking togather and fighting what seems to be a losing battle, but together we will be okay.

Thanks again, and if there's…[Read more]

  • Thank-you! It's a pleasure.

After seeing what Myeloma can do, day-in day-out for 3 years I just want to help as much as possible towards getting a cure to hopefully stop some of the suffering and worrying families have to endure!

  • Hi guys, the last time I was online was sadly to inform people that my dad had passed away at just 52 in February of this year.
And that was in February. Since then ive passed my first year of university and signed up for my second marathon in September. I really want to raise as much money as possible to combat this dreadful disease (not that I…[Read more]

  • Hi Nicola

Sorry to hear about your dad, and he WILL be with you in every step you take in life.

I'm 19 years old and my dad died nearly a month ago aged 53, due to MM taking its course.
I still can't believe he's gone. Even whilst carrying his coffin with my 3 brothers it just didn't seem real.
Anyway, just keep strong for your family and…[Read more]

  • It is my dad in the photo! I ran a marathon for Myeloma in September.
My mum doesn't have a computer, but I ring her and am home almost every weekend.
Thank-you for your kind words. It's nice to know people care, and there should be more people in the world like most of the people on this site.

I'll keep everyone updated with…[Read more]

  • It's been just over 3 week now since my dad passed away just before his 53rd birthday.
I have had to return to University and my sister has gone back to work. We needed to because that's what my dad would want.
My mum is doing okay, ring her 4-5 times a day because I just need to hear her voice.
I can safely say that the past few weeks have…[Read more]

We'll be fine I'm sure of it. keeping busy might help, but I'm dreading not being near my family for a few weeks. It's been the only reason I've coped reasonably okay, because I have my mum to look after. And knowing shes being looked after makes me feel better.
I'm sure my sister will be here a lot, but the distance will hurt a tiny…[Read more]

Thankyou everybody, it's been nearly three weeks now since my dad died.
Although the initial anger has faded away, the distraught is still present.
I'm not looking forward to going back to University on Monday, but it has to be done. My mum is not herself (which is not out of the ordinary), but at least I know my 2 brothers and sister can be…[Read more]

  • My father (Arthur slater) passed away a week ago due to Myeloma taking its course. He died at the age of 52, and fought a long battle that lasted three years.
My mother around the same age is petrified to live her life (married 35 years) without him. I'm terrified of going back to University.
Me and my brothers and sister are devastated. We…[Read more]

Hi Gina, he said it's most probably just a build up of fluid (hydrocele) but just to be sure I'll be having an x-ray next week because you can't be too sure, eh?
I've told my parents and they said they're very proud of me for going, but they wish I'd have told them sooner

Hello people, my name is Joe and 18 years old. My dad has had myeloma for 3 years now and is still fighting hard. It's been such a rollercoaster ride with my uncle dying last year as well.
My mum went to the doctors a few week ago for some tests because they thought she had cancer as well. The tests came back negative. I'm going this week (my…[Read more]
