  • Hi All

I am very very pleased to say that my Mum came home last Thursday, she is doing soooooo well, to the point that the hospital have said not to go back for a check up for two weeks 🙂

The broken leg is obviously more of a issue at home, but other than that thankfully all the other problems seem to be disappearing.

    The last month has…[Read more]

  • Ah sorry, thought it would have been a coincidence.

Mum is ok, her bloods are brilliant (neutrophils 4.36, platelets 50, both white and red cells in range,) but having lots of additional problems failing kidneys (she has 3 stone of fluid!), broken leg and now an infection in her other leg! Along with the expected trots, sickness and fatigue. We…[Read more]

  • Hi Wendy

I'm not sure I have the right person, so apologies if I havent, but were you in the MRI a couple of weeks ago, ward 44?

My Mum is currently in there and she mentioned a lady called Wendy who had chatted to her.

Sorry if I've got it wrong.

    Kind regards

    Belles

  • Thank you so much Helen, I read your reply just before going to bed, which has enabled me to get a few hours of much needed sleep.

Mum's temp is just over 38 this morning, which is better but she is still shaking and sickly.

They have given her the platelets, so thinking these may help.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi

My poor Mum is going through a really rough time, she is now on day 8 after the harvested cells were administered and her temperature is rising by the day. They have tested her for infection and thankfully the results were negative, but the temperature still continues to rise. Tonight it was 40.3 and she is visibly shaking and almost…[Read more]

  • Thank you all so much for the wonderful support, it means a lot 🙂

Mum has been moved to a side room, as over the next few days her bloods will drop then they start the injections to release the cells from the marrow on Thursday. She also has a temp, so now on antiobiotics!

We do not know anymore about the black out yet, it may take an MRI…[Read more]

  • Hi All

My Mum is currently in hospital undergoing a syngeneic SCT from her twin. The day prior to her receiving the harvested cells, Mum had the huge blast of chemo and 24 hours of fluids etc. Just an hour before this was completed, unfortunately she had a fit/black out and fell and broke her ankle! They are now doing tests for epilepsy, but…[Read more]

  • Hi

My Mum has just finished stage 4/6 of Velcade and since the start of stage 3 she has come out in an awful rash, actually it looks more like chickenpox spots than a rash! Before each treatment, she is having a high dose antihistamine injection which is completely knocking her out for the next 24 hours. Has anyone else experienced this with…[Read more]

    Hi Everyone

My Mum was diagnosed 5 years ago with MM, she had a course of chemo followed by a successful SCT. But, sadly she has relapsed earlier this year and treatment started again. She is now on stage 4/6 of Velcade in readiness for another SCT.

As she is a twin they are offering her a syngeneic SCT this time, has anyone had one of…[Read more]
