  • Thankyou everyone for your support as always it makes the world of difference My lovely and very wise Macmillan nurse came today and has suggested increasing the Oxycontin to 70mgs morning and night plus increasing Severadol to30mgs Fingers crossed it works She was rather annoyed with the doctor for ignoring her other reccomendations for patches…[Read more]

    Hi Michelle sorry to hear mum has had setback but it sounds like her doctors are on the ball!! I am also on Revlimid and I have been told Cyclo may be added if Revlimid beomes ineffective on its own Could the P drug be Polpomanide( not sure of spelling ) if it is Gaye is on this one I believe.   • Hi Eve thanks for that , I was told its the liver getting used to morphine that leads to higher doses At the moment I am relying on Severadol just to get through the day Hopefully the Macmillan nurse will ring and up the Oxycontin dose soon , if not Iwould rather go back on mst morphine at least Tlcan function better on that Take care love Bridget x

    Slim was changed to Oxycontin in hospital,when we asked why,told it was better because it worked longer up to 12 hours,I think they said it was opium based,morphine mst worked faster,but the body gets use to the drug and becomes less effective leading to higher doses.

    Sorry to here you are in hospital,Raging diarrhoea not nice,but you are in the right place,if it was a infection they would most probably not like to have admitted you! fluids is the big one with diarrhoea,and being an impatient any test will be done earlier.It must be very hard to cope with living on your own,
