Hi Keith thankyou that really helps to get a picture of the process I would have been expecting immediate pain relief too , at least now I wont be impatient.I am sure it wont be too long before a more specific therapy emerges.I have just read a piece on cancer treatment origins and I amazed that the first treatment wasnt till 1942 and came about…[Read more]

Hi Sarah your comment about feeliong selfish for working jumped out at me You are most definitely not being selfish and I am sure Gordon doesnt think so either !!In some ways its reassuring when my other haif goes off and does his own thing , it makes life seem more normal if that makes sense On the other hand if you feel the time is right to stop…[Read more]

Hi Amelie great news about Johns remission ,long may it last The only advice I can add regarding infections is to have the pneumonia vaccine which lasts ten years .I had this vaccine 2 years ago and although I did have pneumonia last year it is likely to have been more severe if I hadnt been vaccinated love Bridget x

Dear Lindsey
Although my experiences are not like your Mum's she has my extreme sympathy because I don't think that Drs always do take pain seriously enough.
I think you should ask to see an Orthopeadic Specialist, or a Pain Specialist as morphine probably isn't the answer, or if it is, maybe she need patches. Is your Mum on steroids as…[Read more]

Dear Gavin
I was interested to hear how your diagnosis was reached. It's not boring, because that is the benefit of this site that we can learn by comparing other's experiences.
Hopefully, like me your mobility will gradually improve and I know, from previous nerve damage to my foot following hip surgery, that eventually it does begin to…[Read more]

Dear Shirley
Happy Near Year! So glad to hear things are going well with you. You are very brave.
Your post has answered a question I have been wondering about which is 'does every new regime of chemo lead to hair loss.
Keep cheerful and look forward to that long remission.
Love
Mavis
