I am so glad to hear you have been able to get back to taking hacks, Carol, you must really have missed being able to get out for a decent ride!

And it is great that you now have effective pain relief too. 🙂

And I noticed in another post that you are now in remission, may this last for a long, long time!!

  • Hi Vicki, I have not logged in here for a while so hae just seen your post.

I was 60 when I was diagnosed in Feb last year after having a stiff back for 6 months or so culminating in searing pain which sent me to the GP who luckily sent me for blood tests within a week or so.

I had 6 cycles of CDT immediately then a stem cell transplant in…[Read more]

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing and interested in the possible hereditary connection.
Is there any chance his medical team would be able to test you and your siblings to hopefully catch any early signs in any of you?

Wow, Min that does sound like an interesting new way of harvesting stem cells.

As I have two large rolls of fat, one above and one below the navel that will not shift I would love them to try removing them and see if they could get any stem cells from them. A case of "2 birds with one stone" in my opinion!!

  • Hi Marian!

Just a suggestion that migh help – I always take a small digital recorder to my doctor appointments and record the whole thing so I can listen to it later and confirm in my mind just what was said and work out what questions I need to ask my doc or specialist nurse.

Mine is very small (the size of a memory stick) and I download…[Read more]

Good to hear Kev and you are starting to get back to "normal", Liz!

I remember how good it was to have the Hickman line out, It was such a fiddly business trying to keep the connectors dry when having a shower!

Wishing you an uneventful few weeks while he gets his strength back and hope you both get some rest and relaxation over the summer,…[Read more]

I am so glad to hear you persevered and called 999!

sometimes we just have to believe in our gut instincts.

My husband is prone to developing pneumonia after a cold so I have been known to exaggerate his symptoms to the duty doctor in the night if it looks as if he is heading that way in the past as I know in a few hours he will need…[Read more]

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, Eve! I wish you both all the best on the day.
