Sorry to be late into this thread. My husband was diagnosed at 53 in Nov 2008 One of the chemo nurses told us to apply for a blue badge straight away as anybody receiving chemotherapy was entitled to be considered. Stephen was also told to fill out the form as if it were his worst day.

One tip forget the clippers shave the whole lot. When Stephen (mm husband)clipped his hair very short it meant that the bits that fell out (it all does) were sharp and prickly and stuck in his face during the night.

A welcome from me too. My husband had his first SCT in 2008. He was one of the lucky ones in that, apart from the loo trot on a regulat basis, he got through it unscathed.
The neutropenic (sp) diet did not cause a problem as he did lose his appetite and even the special menu in Kings College Hospital was foul. Great staff, wonderful treatment…[Read more]
