    Hi All
Well if there is a link Slims must be from his Slavakien side, and we have no history there.
I do not know if I am bitter, but Slims mum died last year age 84,she was not a very nice person,so it does seem a little unfair, but that sums up life sometimes.
I know we worry about our partners David, managing, worrying about what the future…[Read more]

    Hi Terry
Yes they are the same thing,I use that reference,as to me it is a biopsy because it looks at cells in the bone marrow, and it is the one test they can confirm myeloma and the only way of telling what is going on inside the bones.
I agree failure is not an option,it,s important to be positive.Eve

    Hi Terry
Come on just to tell you what BMB is,it,s Bone Marrow Biopsy.
Slim has to have them as other results do not show true readings and the only way to tell if Chemo is effective is by BMB,and general health.
Slims on a three week cycle of Velcade 2 weeks on one week off a combination of VCD on different days, just finished 6 cycle waiting…[Read more]

    Hi Min
    I read that article too.
I think it has long been accepted that we all hold the ingredients within our bodies that can be cancer related, how it multiplies to full blown cancer related illness is not known, otherwise we would have an answer to Cancer.

I would like to see more research relating to the individual person, considering how…[Read more]

    Hi Eve,
I had a tooth extracted pre-SCT… it was carried out at Queen's Nottingham by a Surgeon/Dentist. The extraction was quite straightforward and I had to wait an hour for a post-op check and then was sent home with a course of preventative anti-biotics.

No further problems encountered but I was told that all future tooth work would be…[Read more]

Hi Glynj I have not had radiotherapy to reduce the myeloma cells as such but I have had it twice for pain relief and to shrink tumours. It was painless very quick , the first session takes about an hour to set it all up but each session afterwards was about 15mins In my case it was completely successful , especially the last time when I had…[Read more]

    Hi Glynj,

Many of us have had radiotherapy as part of our treatment… tumours on and around the spine seem to be the most common but elsewhere as well. Where do they plan John's radiotherapy?

    Dai.
