The following week we played whatever games the best film had been about , cowboys and indians or robin hood stick out in my memory .The smart kids knew…[Read more]

Kitchens? No… but we had a new boiler the other week and the disruption was irritating (it took 12 hours over one go because the plumbers, very good plumbers, didn't want the disruption to continue into a second day.) That's what I call service.

Its good to see you back on the site and doing your rounds Tom… our very own Doctor…[Read more]

Im glad you are going in, i have learnt from experience with my mum never to leave or put it off.
Hopefully like you said they can give you something that will make you feel better.
I feel for Janet as i know how hard it is to stand by and see the one you love and care for in such pain.
    Fingers crossed for you Dai

  • I think I'm right in saying that Peter and Slim are both ex-military?

The nearest I got was Lieutenant in the Boys' Brigade… with a 'First Aid Badge'… so I seek professional aid at the first opportunity.

I was trained to do so. 😉

    Hi All,

    Thank you for your support.

The Day-Case Unit is not taking calls and I have found out that it is only open for chemotherapy treatments that are fixed by need… and quite right too.

I have felt better all night and my temperature has been completely normal… until 10am when it jumped to 37.70 and had stayed there since… so I…[Read more]

  • Hiya Min,
I know how you feel when the patient wont get help when needed. Mum has done this twice and has nearly died in the process. This last time after 2 chest dtains and a sealing procedure mum has said in future as soon as she is ill she is going to the doctors. What a relief that is for us.
I hope that Peter is getting the treatment he…[Read more]

Hiya Dai, I hope that you do get sorted and go and enjoy your holiday,it will be just what you need.
You are doing the right thing by getting checked because other wise you would only get worse, and then they would probably keep you in.
I hope you are ok and have a great holiday, you deserve it

  • HiGill thanks for making me smile this morning , the image of you pulling that sock out was funny I have been thinking about how reluctant we are to go in to hospital and I agree with Stephen , time at home is precious and the thought of hospital food , beds etc is not a happy one I t was the hospice that wanted me to come in to look at my pain…[Read more]

  • Hi Bridget
So sorry your having so much pain – hate to think of you putting up with it if there is something the Hospice could offer above what you already have might it be worth a short stay? Would it mean going in for very long to see if they could help? I know how you feel – I wouldn´t want to be away from home either but perhaps if it´s 4…[Read more]

  • Right, we're off to the hospital tomorrow for a voluntary check up… I've had a temperature that's been hanging around 37.6 all week-end, leaving me feeling uncomfortable at rest and completely shattered whenever I do the simplest of tasks. The Day-Case Unit is open and I want to see a Doctor to make sure I haven't got an infection of some…[Read more]
