I'm glad that you two concur… a family argument might have made good drama but overall I'd rather settle for agreement. :-0

I'm sorry that the relapse was confirmed but the medics are on the ball with the Velcade starting right away. I seem to recall that the best results for Velcade occur in the first couple of Cycles… then it settles…[Read more]

    Hi Megan

Thanks for your message, how is your husband doing now?

The timings you have given make more sense 🙂 Maybe we misunderstood mum?

It's reassuring to hear you say Phil's appetite wasn't hugely affected, dad will normally eat anything, but the CDT really put him off certain things and it changed sometimes daily what he could or…[Read more]

Just a quick update…..hope you dont mind mum 🙂

We went to see the Consulatant yesterday, and he confirmed the myeloma cells are active again, PP count was 18 so it is on the rise.

He was a bit cagey about giving exact results from Bone marrow biopsy, just said that they visually assess it as well as doing actual counts and he said they…[Read more]

  • Hi Tom,

My veins are a nightmare to find, you can see the nurses in the Day Case suddenly finding themselves very busy with other things when I am shown to a chair. 😀

There is a Chinese male nurse called Jeff who is 'bigged up' by the other nurses and he usually accepts the challenge and finds a way in… yesterday it was Liz, the first…[Read more]

I do not know what you situation is Tom,Dai is right in what he says about the physical side of claiming, but they can not discriminate between physical and the mental ability of the person although they have tried for years, because they do not like paying for a person,eg with early dementia or mental issues.

  • Hi Tom,

I was advised by a MacMillan nurse to apply for DLA because of my limited mobility and extensive bone damage. I put in for it expecting to get the lower rate but they gave me the higher rate and a nice new car.8-)

    Hi Maureen

It makes me angry when I. Hear people having bed sores, the NHS have ripple beds and if he was given the nursing he should of had,a man of his age should not be in this position,I could under stand it if he was frail,as it is very hard to avoid bed sores.

I can only tell you all the time my husband was in hospital,I bed bathed him…[Read more]
