    Hi Chris

Thank you so much for posting,it does give us some in sight, knowing we have to make this big decision ,it is early days for us concerning SCT,just trying to get any information concerning SCT,its almost like having to take a couple of steps backward to advance, with not knowing if it will be worth the effort

Dai I wish I could give you some sound advice, but the only thing I can think of,is if you reduce your water intake it must have an effect on your kidneys.

It is so wrong that you have to comply to a criteria ,were does that leave people like Slim, nothing shows in bloods or urine,I just know when things are not right, luckly I now have a GP who…[Read more]

    Hi Val

My hubby suffers with his legs, not so much cramp or even PN, just very painful, they feel very hard around the calves,I massage his legs as much as possible to take some of the tension from the calves, plus walking seems to help,it seem his leg problem is more effected with the cold.

    Hi Michele

I can relate to your problem,as we are in the same position,at last we have remission, and waiting on Kings to see if my husband is suitable for SCT,his consultant says although very fit has had pneumonia which has damaged his lungs,so feels it might not be in his interest, but has told us to go to kings, they are the experts,so we…[Read more]

  • I want to thank all the kind people who have given me support during the horrendous journey David and I endured. He passed away last Saturday after a long, painful battle, fought with courage and optimism. I managed to nurse him at home until the very last day and I am grateful for that. He is now out of pain for the first time in 11 months and…[Read more]

    Hi Gill

Gill you should never feel like that, this is when you need this site the most, because it,s hard to talk to family about it,and most of us carers have earned are stripes with DEX.:-/

I am able to say to Slim is it the DEX talking or Slim and he does calm down, its a bit harder in public ,when he makes a remark that,s uncalled fore. I…[Read more]

  • Hi All

I haven't been on for a while because, although I don't need to only post when everything is goodness and light, I felt a bit disloyal posting about Stephen being so horrid.

His prognosis is not good and we know that if next Christmas comes we will feel lucky. He has just finished his 3rd cycle of revlimid and is on dexamethasone. We…[Read more]

Fantastic news. Remission is a wonderful word to hear. As for SCT I believe that everyone is very different. Stephen sailed through his first SCT and felt quite guilty as others felt awful, But he was one of the unlucky ones and got very little remission from it
Fingers crossed and the best of luck

  • Gill replied to the topic Is it back? in the forum General 14 years, 2 months ago

Fingers crossed for John I know that in Stephen's case his blood does not give a very bad pp reading but his "boney" damage (spine, hip rib and sternum) tells all.
    Good luck gill
