A welcome from me too. My husband had his first SCT in 2008. He was one of the lucky ones in that, apart from the loo trot on a regulat basis, he got through it unscathed.
The neutropenic (sp) diet did not cause a problem as he did lose his appetite and even the special menu in Kings College Hospital was foul. Great staff, wonderful treatment…[Read more]

David that was brilliant.I have only sung it in my head and at a whisper so far as it is late at night and Stephen is asleep. But tomorrow I will sing to Stephen at the top of my (terrible out of tune) voice

Hi Gilly
Do check your organisation's sick policy When Stephen was diagnosed in November 2008. My doctor signed me off with stress due to my husband's illness.
I ran a hostel for single homeless young people with additional problems on top of having nowhere to live. Some had suffered abuse from at home, others had developed drug or alcohol…[Read more]

Nettie I am so sorry if you thought I was being unkind or picky I meant the whole thing as a joke and did not mean to offend anybody.
My words over poking in noses were directed at David which I thought I had made clear in my first paragraph.
All the best Gill

Hi Christine
Cannot help you much on this one, except to say,Velcade did create a feeling of anxiety and general accident prone moments, not sure if it was Velcade, but put it down to doing to much and not drinking enough fluids.

Dear Dai
I am so pleased that you feel better. I reacted a bit to the flu jab (the same as last year) slightly swolen arm and sniffles Whereas Stephen had no reaction at all.
Stay Well

Before I put up my word I would like to say (for David's sake) that in the (made up) classification of diseases
