I think the answer Debs is to talk to the hospital and better be safe than sorry, Im sorry your feeling so awful but its that darned time of year when everyone is run down but being run down after MM is something to take professional advise on.
I hope it clears up soon and your able to get on with your life

    Dear Gina,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mum, I imagine your all feeling quite numb. I hope your happy memories will take you forward without too much sadness. You are very lucky to have had her at home and I am sure she was very grateful to spend her last days in your company.

Peter had stage three mm. This was determined by the following scale.
At diagnosis his light chain readings were five thousand plus.
He had kidney damage, he also had bone damage to four of his vertibrae's
Stage one is just mm with no bone or kidney damage
Two mm with either bone or kidney damage.
Throw in some pulminary embolisms and a broken hand not to mention the broken ribs he ignored prior to diagnosis, and a double heart bypass-late diagnosis and this all spelt disaster for him.accompanied by the fact his mother died of mm
The most annoying fact is he had regular blood tests for his cholesterol and check ups for his heart but the blood test that would have found his mm early was never done
With the benefit of hindsight we could have nipped it in the bud
So keep on your toes and don't delay any abnormal illness

Sounds like they are getting the message Eve, next time no doubt it will be spot on!
Do you remember the days when you got a prescription from your Dr and you took it to the chemist? not Phamacies in those days.
One man measured out and mixed up your medicine and counted out the tablets by hand and He wrote the label by hand.. you waited about 5 minutes in total.
Today everything is in pre packed boxes packets or bottles and the labels are printed by computer but still you wait for half an hour. This is called progress???.
Oh for the olden days when we collected rose hips and sold them to the chemist Happy Days.

I used to hate christmas and when anyone asked what I wanted I always said to cancel it. One year Peter was in the Falklands Emma was off somewhere hot and Tony was as sea and I was working . so about as cancelled as you can get. I changed my mind after that.
A few years ago now we decided to go to the Maldives for Christmas. We didnt buy gifts as the holiday was our pressy and on Christmas day I forgot it was Christmas! But on Boxing day we had the Tsunami which kind of put a damper on our perfect Christmas.
This year well, wait and see. Peter loved it and did OTT decorations etc and I almost feel like doing them in his memory, but he never ever let me decorate a tree so I will probably be useless at it.
But dont let that stop everyone having a wonderful time, its a time for celebrations and families and children and over indulging and just go for it and enjoy. Life is too short not to.

Good news is always welcome Gill, and although Stephen is suffering the same kind of trots as Peter did on Revlamid and dex at least he is tolerating it and hopefully it works once he gets used to it. the radiotherapy sounds good too. all you need now is a smooth trip to your beloved France and your laughing. Albeit in the cold but hopefully the temperate weather of France will allow you to only wear one wooly hat to bed. LOL
Are you there now or planning your next trip.
Whatever ?..enjoy the freedom Revlamid gives you both not to be stuck in a hospital twice a week waiting for Velcade to be made up.
Best of luck and keep us posted Gill and Stephen.

I think I am most proud of my worktops which I bought for £100 each and was terrified they would be rubbish, once the were treated the beauty of the wood is visible. But when we had the funeral someone was using the benches stand wet dishes on and they did suffer a little:'-( but a few hours of sanding and oil and they are good as new unlike formica. He loved the quirky sink I had chosen and wanted it underslung but I was afraid of how it was going to balance
Peter never saw the finished kitchen but did see it at first fix, all the workmen he had lined up to finish ie painter and tiler never turned up when he died >:-( and it was delayed for ages until I felt like getting new workmen but I know he would be proud of what I have achieved in dreadful circumstances.
I am very proud of the finished article as I was the clark of works! All told it was cheap as chips off the cyberworld
