Oh Gaye! I was almost in tears last week – I really thought Harry had been killed! I think they will leave us with a cliffhanger tonight as Harry is thinking of taking the job mentioned by the other forensic guy brought in to do the PM ….. riveting stuff indeed!!!

Hi Sandie
I am so pleased to hear that your Mum's experience of BMB was pain free. Like Bridget and Sharon, I have had several of these and only one was so painful that it prompted me to write an official letter of complaint to the hospital. This was well worth the effort as my most recent BMB was carried out by a more experienced doctor who was most concerned with my well being and the result was a pain free procedure.
Well done for speaking up and making your concerns known to the doctors who then took the appropriate steps to ensure that your Mum was as comfortable as possible.
I do realise that these young doctors need practical experience to perfect their technique ~ but I'm not brave enough to let them practice on me!!!!! >:-(
Best wishes to you and your Mum and I hope the results of her BMB are good.

Hi David
After my first SCT my paraprotiens were down to 5 (started out at 55!) and after three months went down to 3. Following my second SCT there was no paraprotien detectable and this has remained the case a year later (it had gone up to 13 prior to treatment). Hope this helps with your research but as this is such an 'individual' cancer I think that any results you receive may not actually prove anything but certainly well worth investigating!
Love Nettie
Congratulations, Madelyn is beautiful! Having grandchildren is so exciting – I've just had my first!!
Best wishes to all the family, love Nettie
Dear Thunderthighs
I blame the weather ~ my Will Power went AWOL about the time the snow made its first appearance and refuses to come home until temperatures return to more reasonable levels.
I have to sympathise with 'Will' ~ it has been a long winter already and although tempted to fly to warmer regions in search of him I realise this is not practical so will put up with the extra few pounds (well… quite a few actually!) that I seem to have acquired in various parts of my anatomy ~ at least they are keeping me warm!
Spring is just around the corner ~ Will Power will return eventually so put away the mirrors (sorry David I am just not brave enough to even consider your recommendation!!!!:-0 ) and enjoy the goodies!!! >:-)

Happy & healthy New Year to you all xxx
A beautiful verse Roz and a fitting tribute to a very brave man. I hope your sore throat is gone soon ~ I will be thinking of you as you read it later this week.
Much love, Nettie x
Hi Jonny
I am sorry to hear you have come up against a doctor who does not give you the support and confidence in him that you so desperately need and deserve at such a difficult time.
You have the right to ask to be transferred to any hospital if you feel that the one you are attending is not right for you. You do not say whereabouts in the country you are located but members of this forum are from all regions and it may be helpful to ask here for recommendations for around your area. The Royal Marsden in London is excellent and although I have not met Prof. Morgan I have heard nothing but praise for him.
Traveling away from your area may not be an option, in which case I would recommend that you contact the Infoline on this site as the Nurses are second to none and will answer any questions you may have in a empathic and straightforward way.
I hope you soon get the support you are looking for and wish you and your husband all the best during the coming year. Please do keep posting and let us know how you are getting on.

Hi Gaye
I hope you have had a truly wonderful Christmas and I wish you a happy and hopefully healthy 2011.
Love Nettie x 🙂
So, so sorry Roz. Michael is at peace and pain free, please take care of yourself now.
Love and hugs, Nettie xx
Dear Roz
I am pleased to hear you have gone home to give yourself a break and hopefully catch up on some rest. In my opinion I think that what you are going through now is the very worst and when the time comes for Michael to finally let go and pass away you may feel a sense of relief and there is absolutely nothing wrong about feeling that. Watching the person you love most in the world suffer is just dreadful and to know they are finally at peace and pain free is almost comforting so please, please don't feel guilty – everything you are feeling is completely natural. Everyone grieves in a different way and it sounds as if you are already experiencing a huge amount of grief.
Michael is comfortable now and you must look after yourself and if that includes a couple of drinks then don't feel bad about that either. You and Michael are in everyones thoughts and prayers and although we may be miles apart you are not alone – if everyone in the world had someone like you to love and care for them as you do for Michael the world would be a better place.
Stay strong Roz, I wish I could be there to give you a hug.
Love Nettie xx
Hi Roz
