    • Hello Perkýmite

Allan my better half had a similar problem when on chemo and was advised by the Consultant (at Musgrove, Taunton) that because one of the drugs was thalidomide it was likely to cause blood clots so I was prescribed aspirin. Part way thro treatment I developed painful legs and was advised to return to Musgrove, have an ultra scan…[Read more]

  • I have suddenly developed a swollen right calf muscle. It extends down to the ankle but stops just above the ankle joint. It can be painful to walk on. Consultant I saw on Friday siad he di not think it was anything to do with Myeloma, not very convincing though. I am going to drop in and see my Doctor next week.

    Anybody got any experience…[Read more]

  • Wow, France and Greece you are getting about. When we went to France last last August they wanted £700 for a week Insurance, that was with the relevant French E111(?) card.

    You have a great time.

Hi Maureen, I have tried with quotes from them all, but Myeloma with Prostate neither of which is in remission is a big no no for them.

Have a great stay at Gleneagles, I have never been there but when I watch the golf it looks a great place.

I have just booked the Rickett Suite at the Union Jack Club in Waterloo, it is their top suite I tried…[Read more]

  • Best of Luck Tom. I got pulled off of Velcade after 3 Doses, PN big time. I am now on Rev/Dex which seems to be working well although I must admit to getting really peed off with the Dex!

    Anyway – onwards and upwards.

Every time I go to see a Consultant I get a copy of letter he/she then send to my Doctor. This I find jogs my memory of what has been said and generally explains a lot more. It would certainly give a reason for stopping a form of treatment, do you not get this? The list of questions to ask is absolutely essential and very good advice, some…[Read more]

  • Hi Stuart, I use Google Chrome google as my standard home page and search engine. I am runing Windows 7 Premium with Norton 360 with Norton Power Eraser. I also have installed Malwarebytes Adwcleaner but these I use very rarely. One I do use is Ccleaner rather like the programme, clears up so much rubbish, and yes I do clean the Registry…[Read more]

Hi one and all, I have been absent without leave from the site for awhile now. It all started when I had to re-install win 7. My computer would randomly crash. It was my fault I tried to be just a little to clever and it did not work – enough said I think (hiding red face). In penance I have sorted out my Grandchildren’s computers, the…[Read more]

I have the tickle cough as well but it is unusual in that I can go all day without a problem only to start coughing as soon as I go to bed. I have just woken up, dex affect, at 3:30 am and I immediately started coughing. I have now been on my computer, which is now alive and well, and the cough is…[Read more]

Hi guys, As you are aware from my previous posts I am just hopeless in this sort of situation, just can’t get the words right on paper for some reason.

Can I just second what you have said and just add that I held him in such high regard that I still find it hard to come to terms with the fact that he has gone.

  • Hi Megan, I did ask how many cycles I would be having and the reply was “until you have reached a plateau and can go no further then we will consider maintenance”.

  • Well it is on me at least. I have been on this drug as third line treatment for 3 months now. At the start my PPs were 22.9, first month fell to 6.7 this month down to 3.9. I was not expecting it to be Zero, which I am not expected to reach but it is a nice drop from a low figure. I am having no side affects that I can recognise from it. The…[Read more]
