  • Hi Eve

Hope you and Slim are coping. It must be hard when the myeloma rears it's ugly head again. How long is it since Slim had his SCT? It is a good idea to keep a diary. How about going for councelling? I have to see the same councellor as Ian this month. I will pray for you both.

  • Hi Eve

Ian first went to the doctor in April last year with backache and in his records he said to the gp that he thought it was something sinister. The gp is quoted as trying to assure him it wasn't. Went back several times and was given pain killers each time. By June it wasn't getting any better and he asked to be referred to a specialist.…[Read more]

  • Hi Nerys

My husband was daignosed with mm in late October. He had been suffering with backache since April and was sent to a specialist in June who sent him for physio. We had to go private for an mri scan and that was when a tumour on his spine was detected and mm was diagnosed. Like your mum, my husband's legs started to wobble and he had…[Read more]

    Hi

My husband Ian is still in hospital and we don't know if he will be able to walk or be in a wheelchair. He was 57 last week.I too feel like I have no life. I travel 20 miles back and forth to the hospital each day, and on at least 3 days, twice.

I do pilates on a Thursday morning which is a release for me and sometimes a go for a…[Read more]

  • Hi Eva

Sorry to hear that Slim's myeloma has returned. I hope they will find a cure for it soon as lots of research is being done.

I will have to cut down on my visits to the hospital to once a day on some of the days as it is very exhausting but Ian doesn't understand.

I'll say a prayer for Slim

Well done Peter, you must feel a great relief. Have that glass of champagne when your taste buds get back to normal. You deserve it.

  • Hi Tom

Ian had as good a birthday as possible. I baked him a cake and bought him the series of the wire. He got nice face creams and lots of cards, including one from his work. His nickname was soapy as in oor wullie as he had curly hair and they designed a card with his name and a monkey on the front. He did laugh.

    Thanks for your…[Read more]

    Hi Dai

Hope you have managed to escape the lurgy. I have 2 small grandchildren and I stay away when they have the sniffles as I seem to pick up everything from them, but I love them to bits.

    Thanks Helen

Ian is cranky when he is on the steroids and I am exhausted when I visit twice a day so I'm afraid I haven't got much patience. Trying to get Ian to use his tablet and take his mind of the things that go wrong in hospital. Trying to motivate him more.

Hope we get good news about his light chains next week.
