Thanks guys, yes we also thought that it was going to give me a long remission. I have had some complications with GvHD but I thought this was a good thing as it would also create the graft versus myeloma effect as well. We are hoping it is just a solitary tumour and radiotherapy will sort it, but my consultant wants me to have a biopsy just to confirm it is the myeloma, which I have to have to have done under general anaesthetic with the ct scanner! I think it scares me more if its something else!

    Hi Bella

My Sister-in-law's mother-in-law ( my husbands, sister's mother-in-law confusing I know!) lived on Anglesey. Sadly she died a few years ago from Breast cancer, but had all her treatment in Bangor and I've never heard my sister-in-law complain about the treatment she recieved. Sometimes the haematology department has a web site I know when I googled my consultant at my local hospital I found a web site to the hospital specific to the haematology department.
    Good luck

    Dear Roz

I'm sorry to hear your news, I may not post very often but I have read how you and Micheal have struggled. I am thinking of you both at this difficult time, but Roz, as hard as it is and as much as you want to spend every last minute you can with him, you must look after yourself.

Thank you Gaye, the consultant has now done the ward round. It appears that it is my sacrum causing the problem and not my hip! They are referring me an orthopaedic consultant to have a biopsy done on my sacrum (tail like bone at the bottom of the spine)…….lovely! The scan showed it was swollen but they don't know why but it is not avascular necrosis.

    Hi Kevin
Sorry to hear that your sct has failed. I am also in hospital at the moment having picked up an infection. I am also waiting to hear the results of my mri I had yesterday on my hip. They think that I have either developed avascular necrosis from all the steroids I have taken, or like you my allo has failed already and the myeloma is back. Not sure I want to know, it terrifies me the idea that its back already. You sound so brave Kevin, I know I was hoping for a long remission from my allo and all the initial signs were good with my 3 month post transplant bmb showing a complete response.

Wishing you all the best Kevin

    Hi Shirley

I am doing ok thanks, although have got a bit of a sore throat at the mo and seem to be getting some joint pain, not sure if thats related to the early menopause all the treatment has caused though! Everybody still keeps away when they don't feel well! But I have 2 kids and I can't send them away!
I have been out a little bit doing Christmas shopping, seem to have spent more than ever this year! I am still avoiding very crowded areas though, no enclosed shopping centres for me! Or big overcrowded shops, did brave going in primark last week but sent my daughter to que for the till! Never mind, have found online shopping can be just as good and its cosy and warm!!!
When you remember that question let me know, will try to help!

    Wishing you lots of luck

    Hi Shirley

Just wishing you luck for your allo! Just remember that it may take you a bit longer to recover, and I know I felt like I would never feel normal again, but you do eventually! You become paranoid about picking up infections!

Not so good about being in for christmas, but I'm sure you're family and the staff will try their best.

Will follow your progress with interest. If you have any questions just shout!!!:-0

    Hi David

Yes I did! I had slightly different variations, but had all the tests, so don't worry. I have another echocardiogram on Wednesday as I developed a heart arrythmia since my transplant- Great!
    Wishing you luck

    Hello Tina
Isn't it nice to be able to see everyone! Unfortunately I have had to use a pre-transplant photo as I have refused to have my photo taken since!!!! My hair is now a very short curly mess!
