    Hi Everybody
    Just had to praise my hospital today,we went for infusion and tablets today,and we were only in there for 1 hour,Yes it is a record,it has taken six cycles but I cannot express how nice it was,not to spend hours in a hospital waiting for treatment,very impressed.

    I have to say as a carer I have mellowed,may be it is my age rather than Slims condition,to me this mm just puts things into perspective,life to short.So i have learnt to count to 10 before I speak.

    Thanks for info on insurance,cheapest that I have seen,have been looking for awhile.
    Hope to book something when we know results end of July also thinking of trying to make nz to see daughter so insurance is very welcome

    Min has explained it spot on. My hubby was diagnosed 5 years ago with smouldering myeloma and the only treatment he has received is Zometa. That was right at beginning of Diagnoses.     so sorry Gordons SCT didn,t work it must have been a hammer blow on the positive side new drugs are coming on line all the time, look at Mins post good old CDT is working for Peter second time around so don't lose hope

    Just so sorry to here sct failed,i agree with Bridget it is a bstd illness,Slims on a low dose of Dex now and seems to be coping better with it.
    I even let him drive now,before every journey was,like a nightmare.

    I hope you have a happy birthday tomorrow I am sure you will get some help with all your meds and your daughter, speak to MacMillan they can be so helpful I was diagnosed with renal failure so not had an SCT but I have managed so far on drugs alone I was diagnosed in jan 2009

    welcome to this site not the words you would want to hear, You will find many friends and a wealth of good information and support go ahead have a good drink for your birthday and why not I was diagnose in jan 2009 I was 61 I have been in plateau since may 2009 no SCT due to major kidney damage

    Sounds if they have caught you early with having mgus.
