  • Dear Helen
I'm a lot further along the work road than you so the pension situation is very different, but I'm back to work full time, I could retire on ill health grounds but this would mean reducing our income – as i had time off when the children were little my pension will not be great and as my husband is still working, I'm going to work…[Read more]

  • Hi Tom,

You really are a total hero for working those hours! I am not a morning person and have often been known to turn up late for 10am team meetings, even before MM. I hope you do consider taking some of your pension early or going part-time, even though the benefits system is so ill-suited to the situation you're in. You deserve a rest!!…[Read more]

    Hi Maureen,
I'm sorry to hear that. It's really not fair, is it? But hopefully the bed sore will heal quicker than your worst fears and the physio on the upper body meanwhile might at least give Ian something to focus on – along with the wedding which is a great goal and at least there's still a fair few months before that so I'm sure it is…[Read more]

Wishing you and Frank the very best of luck! Now the wait and uncertainty is over – I hope in some ways it will be a relief to just 'get on with it'! You must have had a horrible time not knowing if and when it was going to happen.
    All the best,
    Helen

  • Hi all

    Hi Maureen

You must find it hard with working, have a word with husband, and tell him to make sure they turn him over, and ask can the physo massage his pressure points,or when you go in give him a massage,it,s good for circulation plus relaxing and in general will make him feel better.

    Hi Sue

Well I was up at 5am this morning and I took 2 tablets, had to get up with frozen shoulder and bad leg,a cup of tea and a piece of toast,so I could take pain killers and I am only the carer. Lol, I have gone down hill,as Slim is getting better,I think the whole 2 years hit me in one go,so may be sleeping tablets are not the…[Read more]

  • Hi Tom

I do not know what you situation is Tom,Dai is right in what he says about the physical side of claiming, but they can not discriminate between physical and the mental ability of the person although they have tried for years, because they do not like paying for a person,eg with early dementia or mental issues.

Tom as you say your…[Read more]

    Hi Maureen

It makes me angry when I. Hear people having bed sores, the NHS have ripple beds and if he was given the nursing he should of had,a man of his age should not be in this position,I could under stand it if he was frail,as it is very hard to avoid bed sores.

I can only tell you all the time my husband was in hospital,I bed bathed him…[Read more]

    Hi David
Hope your MRI shows nothing untoward.

And yes Eve and Jean I'm back from Barcelona, Gaudi and Picasso'd out but was much warmer there than here. Lanzarote next month for more sun, and still desperately trying to get my head round the increased light chains, can't tell you how devastated that result last week has felt. It was…[Read more]
