  • Hi Bridget
Glad to hear your back up and running! Hope the morphine is helping with the pain although I know it must make you rather haaaaaazy!
They have given me oramorph to be used only at those times when the Tramadol just can´t calm the old back down but I haven´t been forced to use it thank goodness although I have come pretty c…[Read more]

    Hi
MySuch a relief to hear there are others out there. Took my grandchildren shopping with me today as their teachers had closed the school for a training day. My four year old little grandson spent the first 10 minutes trying to negotiate how many items I could buy before we went to McDonalds and when I wouldnt play that game tried to negotiate…[Read more]

    Hi Nadine and welcome
Hope this helps. I had my STC in Feb of this year and although I can´t say recovery was as quick as I would have liked I am now in remission so I can´t ask for more.
I do get very tired but on the other hand that could be because I look after three horses every day, do all the housework and cooking and shopping, laundry e…[Read more]

Dai you have put all of that in an incredible way. I so hope that Min reads your message, and all of the other posts and stays in touch.

I feel that, although it is this b****rd illness that brought all of us together in the first place, we have all become friends. As well as discussing mm we go further. Whether it is stories of our children,…[Read more]

  • Hi Amelie
Sorry to reply so late but I have only just read this. I had my SCT in Feb of this year and yes, I am FED UP with my itchy back and my medical team see to think it´s to be accepted – just the result of the Melphalan and resulting very dry skin.
However, I´m going to investigate eosinophilic folliculitis further and see if I can get s…[Read more]

  • Hi Paul and welcome
I am on the Myeloma 11 trial with Revlimid. Hope this helps – I had my stem cell transplant in February and although I haven´t found recovery a swift process (I´m a horse rider and sailing kind of person so I´m sure you understand my lack of pacience!) my paraprotien level is now 00. Basically this means I am officially in…[Read more]

    Dear Min

I have no idea of how you feel right now and for me to say sorry is pointless. I think that is a given statement anyway.

Please don?t leave this site. We all need people to ?prop us up?. None of us are so misguided to think that the ultimate end is not going to happen to us. I, for one, lay awake at night and try to believe that…[Read more]

  • Tip for ranting Sarah.

Go for it with which ever unfortunate person you get on the other end of the phone. Just a few very angry always acceptable words and just do it.

Only a few seconds. Then take a deep breath and calmly apologise for ranting at that person. Explain that you realise that it is not their fault but you are so upset at…[Read more]

Thank you all so much for your good wishes it really is a boost. Stephen had the lump removed today. He had opted for having it done under a local rather than a general anesthetic.(Is the man mad as well as having mm?) The operation took about an hour and we won't know just what it is for about a week.

His neck is aching and very sore and he…[Read more]

    Hi Aileen

I am sorry you find yourself using this forum. It is a huge shock to get the diagnosis isn't it? My husband has mm.

He went for Xrays as the orthopaedic surgeon he was referred to by our GP thought he had a trapped nerve. A phone call from the said surgeon at 7.30 a.m on the day Stephen was due to go back to get the results should…[Read more]
