Hi Ange

This is a great site with such lovely people who are always…[Read more]

Stephen has had extensive radiotherapy to his spine area and now has what appears to be quite angry, red burn marks on his back.
Has anyone else experiensed this?
His back was quite sore and the skin very rough. I have been rubbing the marks with body lotion and now the soreness and rough feel has gone although it still looks burnt I just…[Read more]

Stephen and I have been to the edge on one or more occasion, but this is the worst that he has ever been.
He can no longer walk without crutches, has lost the mobility down his right side, his vision has gone in his right eye and he sees double out of his left eye.
He looks like somebody that has had a stroke and lost the right side of…[Read more]

I know my spelling will not be good but sore mouth = corsodyl tooth paste and mouthwash
2 Stem cell transplants and Stephen got one very small mouth ulcer. Helped by Rinstead pastilles.
The old remedies are sometimest the best.
Good luck and good health to all Gill xx

Dear Lynne
Sorry and Thank You
I am so sorry that John has gone but thank you so much for your advice. Stephen is on Dex at the moment and can be horrid. Sometimes I bite and sometimes I walk away.
What is hard is that he has always been a laid back pussy cat and now can be a growly cat.
We all need to treat every day as special. Any…[Read more]

Hi Everybody
The oncologist looked again and thought it was in the brain (We had a friend who had lung cancer and it went to her brain It was aweful but quick so Stephen's prognosis looked even worse). They scanned Stephen again MRI, PET anything else that gave a chance of having another look.
All hail the wizard of oz. We went to see him…[Read more]

Your lovely posts have made me cry in the nicest way. Thank you
Stephen is enjoying the olymics and sleeping through most of it 🙂
His specialist phoned this morning (11 am on a Sunday how dedicated is that man) to say he had spoken to the radiotherapathy wizard last night and they think between them they can ease Stephen's pain.
That…[Read more]

I was not sure what heading to put this under. Goodness me I suppose we all live in denial of some sort.
Anyway Stephen has lost a great deal of his sight. What he has left is in double vision. (at least he has stopped moaning at my driving:-) as he is unable to see as a passenger.
This rotten disease has spread very rapidly and it is now in…[Read more]

I cannot speak highly enough about Kings (Stephen had both his SCTs in there) but what a hassle for Slim to have to keep doing that journey.
We are lucky in that Stephen sees his consultant at a small local hospital near us an there are two chemo nurses there who we speak to. Stephen gets "discussed" with Prof Skye at Kings when the doctors…[Read more]

Hi Mike
I remember that feeling of limbo very well. I think a lot of it was shock in my case and I used to feel sick with worry for a week before every appointment with my specialist – as things settle down though and we got to learn more and more about what was going on we got into the routine and things seems less chaotic.
Please don´t…[Read more]

Sorry that I am late in replying but a very big and warm welcome although I wish we could have met in a different way.
